Looking through my other mods, I also have dynamic difficulty which ALSO buffs AI income and growth, so combined with Zach's mod...geez.
Anyways, going to try another campaign without so many stacked AI bonuses and see if I can use your mod without 20 trillion enemy armies.
All that said, it might still be cool to have a +/- for high leadership in addition to the ones for low leadership.
Admittedly, this might be in part because I have too many difficulty/AI mods which affect AI army upkeep and military spending :D. Still working on figuring out the perfect mod setup.
I might add something similar to overconfidence, ill have to see what tools we have available and see what might fit.
I will say though, you in one sentence say that the game feels about right, but then also say that almost nothing actually reaches your lines. That definitely doesn't feel right to me :)
For a comparison, in my games i constantly have units running away, regrouping and coming back to the fight, almost every ones of my fights (outside of settlements/cleanup) is a Pyrrhic victory, and often have units holding out against insurmoutable for long periods of time, allowing me to pump more damage into their attackers from whatever units i can find :) i have almost zero fights where the enemy doesnt even reach my line, and if i was, i would definitely feel that i was steamrolling too hard and it needed to be turned up.
In any event, I do feel like it would be both useful and thematically consistent to have an "above X% morale" setting where units were eager and overconfident, resulting in high vigor or something like that.
Really, I'd just like the leadership auras on characters to be something worth getting. To me they're essentially dump stats.
My frontline is Amethyst/Nuln Ironsides with 120 leadership, 185/140 armor, 70/60MD, and the "Cannot Die" passive plus 4 Empire Captains and their corresponding 4 sets of summoned officers as an additional buffer in front of them. Even if something DOES reach them (and that virtually never happens), they are virtually unkillable and pretty much always winning the fight against whatever they're fighting.
I could go to VH but I don't really see my doomstack results changing much.
Would you be willing to add something for HIGH leadership? Nothing game breaking, but maybe something like +vigor when above 70% or something due to being enthusiastic?
