I am a bit mixed on this one, the Blu variant is fine but the Red variant doesn't have enough on the back for team recognition. I would suggest making the dark drown spot on the back red like the shirt and then this cosmic would be perfect.

Red variant would need to be changed to a darker brown. A shade similar to what Rifleman's Regalia uses or something should work.

I wouldn't have noticed the team colored rag at the back if it wasn't pointed out, so I don't think it's sufficient.

Yes this item shift engineers available team colors around a little bit. Half the back is the same color as his team colored overalls, while the jacket stays true to engineers color palette by sharing the brown color from his belt and pouch.
The front keeps a large amount of red/blue so it is easy for any enemy you are facing to tell what team you are on

While it does look nice I think it covers up too much of the team color
