@ariel - can't discuss this issue here. Pm me and we can discuss. It largely depends on if the IMS mod supports the war mod you mentioned. You need to check with the IMS author. That's the first requirement. Then get back to me.

Well, the basic mod is IMS (Improved Melee System), it contains the possibility that the units of some compatible mods can carry out bayonet charges.
For example Nassau 1715, among many.
The mod itself already has the animations integrated.
But groups advance in the game's traditional standard formations.
The formations I'm referring to are the ones you might see in a Napoleon-era movie, where soldiers formed more rigid battle lines.
Something like that, like in the game TOTAL WAR

@Eric Macleod as a machinima maker, I can say there's no marching animation in the base game, at least not actual marching. There's several different walk animations, some with guns at ready, but nothing that looks like actual marching so I don't think he'd be able to unless someone added a marching anim in.

@Rickoshay okay, I think i understand. some custom scripting bullshit that would require a phd in the BI wiki? either way, its cool and if i get better at op making i might end up using it.

Just out of curiosity, could someone add their own sound files (for their own cadence songs) to the mod or would that require unpacking and repacking the pbo?

@Ghravel - there's a setting in the script header that lets them turn around and 'loop' back - but it's in a straight line. The point of this script is to add additional base ambience and will most likely only run at mission start - to preserve FPS. I have made a demo where they essentially turn 90 degrees every ~150m and run in a rectangle or square - but it requires a lot of tweaking to set distance paths and timing etc - and out of the scope of the average player.

i haven't downloaded it yet, but from the description it seems they specifically go in a straight line and will even phase through objects (arma moment). Is there any way, or any plans to implement, the ability to make them change course so they can move in a loop? It would be nice to have a PT session with cadence in the background of a military base

If there is one thing I honestly miss about being an infantryman with the 10 Mountain Div. (LI) its battalion or brigade fun runs on Fridays. Being a part of such a large group all running in step and all singing cadence. Its a sight to behold really and when youre in it it truly makes you feel part of a well disciplined, highly motivated, killing machine. God I should have made a career out of it. Anyway, than you for this. It brought back memories fro!!!!
