OkagrimGaming ( https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/profiles/76561198071096410/myworkshopfiles/?appid=1324130 ) is going to be taking over and maintaining my mods from now on for me, with my permission, as I am done playing Stranded.

i tried that before with the eggs and when i made the new group it caused the right click direct command function to not work anymore so i skipped even trying that here. i didnt want it to break things like it did before.

Solution to your problem was actualy you needed to make a new food resource group called Meats or Processed meats and put all the meats in it, and keep rawmeats for pure raw meats.

Both salted and canned meat don't taste good but neither does dried for that matter, but it only matters if you eat it as is.
the reason to salt (fermentation barrel) over boil (cook stove) is time and skill, ingredients are generally crafted fat, oil ect and food is cooked.

its the expansion and contraction of the stuff with the heat change that seals the jars

yep i know. my grandma used to can peaches all the time and yes its done in boiling water. but i did what fit more to the game to keep consistency. not like i really cared, i just wanted the function in the game.

If you put it in a barrel that was mostly done for salting meat to keep it preserved with salt during long trips on sea, but salted meat was never really tasty

Sarge_85 like mentioned i was planning to make a simular recipe for all things but didn't now i looked up how it done in real and your first setting was correct canning meat, veggies and fruit was actualy done in glass bottles and then heated by boiling water and put the bottles in it, so doing it on the cooking stove is actualy the right way to do it.

i figured this was less overpowered than some other things and more realistic since like Vahko said, people really do this so....i went with it. they still can spoil but they just last a really long time. thanks for the compliment Waterdragon77 you make a lot of great mods yourself. ive used your durable clothing since just a few days after buying the game. great stuff.

Nice addition. People been canning meat in the real world for ages, so it's nice to see the option added to the game as well.

Intresting concept Sarge, i had a time planned to do same, but with my better stack mod now i don't see a use for it, got stockage items enough to keep all frozen and never spoil, but still like your ideas you sure have some good ideas

Why not just use the fermentation barrel?
