The method of manually installing Zhina and deleting the particle files in the /particles/ folder did the trick, thanks. I look forward to the new map.

Glad you like it man
The conflicts might be due to the fact that I carpet-bomb included all of the particles from HL2 to the map thinking it was necessary.

If you unpack the .gma file for the Zhina Scripts File mod, you may be able to circumvent this by deleting any of the particle systems in the /particles/ folder that match "blood".

I'd love to fix it myself but frankly I don't want to touch Zhina much more as I'm working on a new much bigger map at the moment, I'll be sure to not make this same mistake again though.

Zhina is a timeless classic, I love it. The only issues I've had with the materials are that the particles and decals in its content will most likely conflict with downloaded addons that replace blood particles and decals.

ive ran it on every build on a i7 cameout same time as the 4090 maps just fucked for me personally

Source engine ignores the GPU mostly, CPU is what makes the difference
That said you can make it run better if you opt into the 64 bit gmod build.
Other than that yes the layout of the map makes it hard to optimise so it isnt perfect.
