Configurable Ores

@OmniDingus - Some other mod, such as Scarce Resources, is changing the PlanetGeneratorDefinitions between the time that Configurable Ores loads them and sanity checks everything. There's nothing I can do about that.
OmniDingus 14. juli kl. 14:13
I'm encountering a similar bug to what has already been written below.

I create a new save (solar system) with this mod and everything goes smoothly.
I drop on earthlike and there are no ores, so I fiddle with this mod to fix it (apparently, every ore had a rarity of 15???). Then I restart and the save is broken.
The logs point to an error in the "pertam" section of the xml for this mod.

-LOG DUMP- OreSlotCount must be Zero (16) or == Total ore slots (7) - Static voxel ore slots (0).

@Siv nevermind I was able to get in. Just wouldn't let me connect from browser
RavenPearce 1. juli kl. 16:50
@-Al- Same issue. I thought there was a compatibility error between another mod AsteroidFilterAPI but then I tried creating a new save with just better ores and configurable ores, it fails to load.

@Siv could you please share the new discord link? One above appears to be invalid. Thx!

@Menos - Mods store their config files per world, so there's no way to store defaults like that. However, I am working on a feature where you can paste a config into a datapad and run it as if you typed all the commands into the terminal.
Menos 30. apr. kl. 4:10
Would be great if there was a feature to save my ore settings, so I can use it in other worlds as well. Or to at least set the default values.
Siv  [ophavsmand] 22. jan. kl. 17:47
@-AI- Talk to me on Discord and let's try to get you squared away.
-Al- 19. jan. kl. 6:12
Can't seem to load a new world with this mod, even if it's the only mod selected. Not really sure what i'm looking for in the log file to understand the issue though
Siv  [ophavsmand] 14. jan. kl. 21:00
@Kharmander | TTV - You're welcome to try! I'm not aware of anyone who has tried such extreme settings. I wouldn't be surprised if it breaks the planet generator, but maybe you get lucky and it does something really cool. Let me know either way!
Kharmander🦤TTV 13. jan. kl. 21:15
I'm trying to get a distribution of ores all the way through the planet. I want to make a start at the core of the planet but nothing spawns there. Would it be possible to achieve my goals with this mod?
Siv  [ophavsmand] 1. dec. 2024 kl. 18:21
@Hazard - If I recall correctly, Ore Deposit Size = Ore Deposit Depth * Size Factor * (Fuzz Factor * Random).
Hazard 25. nov. 2024 kl. 13:56
Hi
I have:
/ore World Depth Min 3
/ore World Depth Max 1000
/ore World Size Min 3
/ore World Size Max 96
Can you provide an example of how the factor will distribute ores? (for example with size factor 0,1; 0,5; 1)
What will I get at a depth of 100; 500; 1000 meters?
Hazard 21. nov. 2024 kl. 22:34
@Siv You are the Best! This will greatly simplify world generation.
Siv  [ophavsmand] 21. nov. 2024 kl. 18:58
@Hazard - Just added that to the list. Next time I'm feeling a bout of Space Engineers modding coming on, I'll add it. Here's the GitHub issue if you want to monitor it: https://github.com/padthaitofuhot/se-configurable-ores/issues/26
Hazard 21. nov. 2024 kl. 14:18
Function "ReadDatapad"
Hazard 21. nov. 2024 kl. 14:17
@Siv Hi
My command list contains about 600 lines for generating ores. I thought about how to optimize it so as not to insert each line into the chat. I will have to write a script through AHK
But I came across an interesting function in another mod (Star System Generator). There you can run the command list through DataPad.

If you can, look in the mod manual.

If you can add this - it will be amazing!!!
Hazard 20. nov. 2024 kl. 23:30
@Siv Thanks! It seems to work. I don't use vanila planet.
Siv  [ophavsmand] 20. nov. 2024 kl. 11:21
@Hazard - It looks like it should be compatible, but you'll need to make sure this mod (CO) loads *after* Better Resources loads or you may get errors if Better Resources does breaking things to the vanilla planets.
Siv  [ophavsmand] 12. nov. 2024 kl. 18:14
@Token McFatKid - Haha, thank you for that, duder.
Token McFatkid 11. nov. 2024 kl. 21:52
So to answer your question regarding why I did not thumbs up you mod.
Simple. I'm a stoner with two jobs and a kid. I forgot to until now. Hope this helps you improve this TERRIBLE mod I haven't been able to play without. :BobaFett:
Siv  [ophavsmand] 8. nov. 2024 kl. 12:39
@ -DF- Ashes Vargrand - Yes, this mod must remain in the mod list.
Ashes Vargrand 8. nov. 2024 kl. 6:05
Have this mod to stay in mod List After i Configurable my ores?
Siv  [ophavsmand] 31. okt. 2024 kl. 22:33
@DisasterAhead - Anytime! Have fun!
DisasterAhead 31. okt. 2024 kl. 20:08
Thank you!
Siv  [ophavsmand] 31. okt. 2024 kl. 19:47
@DisasterAhead - Yes, in fact I recommend configuring the planets before spawning them for maximum compatibility. So, create and empty world, edit the ore configs for the planets you want to use, then spawn the planets.
DisasterAhead 31. okt. 2024 kl. 16:58
So I'm looking to use this in combination with Real Solar Systems, will the mod still be able to work if I load into an empty world then spawn in the planets? Or does it have to generate everything at world start?
BooseOG 23. okt. 2024 kl. 7:41
I had it IAW then transferred to server but didn't re-add the mod. Trying to add back and I get this error

https://pastebin.com/JPh4vfMw
Siv  [ophavsmand] 22. okt. 2024 kl. 18:38
BooseOG - No, the mod must patch PlanetGeneratorDefinitions at load time, so it must be enabled to function.
BooseOG 20. okt. 2024 kl. 4:01
I can remove mod after making the changes?
Siv  [ophavsmand] 19. aug. 2024 kl. 18:23
@Engineered Coffee - No, unfortunately planet material maps (and therefore clustering data, if any) is not available through the ModAPI.
Engineered Coffee 19. aug. 2024 kl. 13:36
Does this mod allow separation of the deposit patches? Like how iron, cobalt, and nickle spawn in a cluster. Looking to make them individual deposits for dedicated mines.
Siv  [ophavsmand] 12. aug. 2024 kl. 19:32
@Donny - I've never seen the behavior you're describing and I've tested ore spawns down to depths of 5km and sizes of 5km. Join the Discord and let's troubleshoot.
Donny 6. aug. 2024 kl. 3:37
Having done more science and messed around with the settings some more, it seems that the veins are being successfully generated, but they're only a single voxel wide and very long which plays quite poorly with the texture merging that SE does.
I guess this is just one of those edge cases where the numbers get funky at extreme depth. Question is, is that something this mod can overcome with some special incantation of settings you can think of or do I just accept the quirk and move on :)
Donny 5. aug. 2024 kl. 23:05
I'm encountering an odd issue.
I'm using this mod to create a "Stoneblock" scenario (like the MC modpack). I set the depth detector factor to 100 (for all moon ores), created a moon 30km wide and created my spawn near the centre of the moon. Sure enough a bunch of ores are being detected by the large grid detector, however when I drill to them there's either usually nothing there and the detector marker for that ore moves ~100-200m away or sometimes rarely there are only tiny slivers of the ore (maybe 100-500kg). I have only encountered one vein that seems to have spawned correctly (~15t of cobalt).

I have to assume the mod is indeed working (amazing job on that btw, saved a lot of time), but perhaps choking in some way on my rather extreme usecase.
Siv  [ophavsmand] 20. juli 2024 kl. 18:48
@Rex - I will keep removing your comments if you keep having an abusive attitude. If you want help using the mod, be kind. The channel for this mod is under the SE DEVELOPMENT header on Patrick's discord.
Siv  [ophavsmand] 20. juli 2024 kl. 18:45
@Null - If memory serves, Better Stone adds ore slots to planets, so this mod should work with it OK. Industrial Overhaul removes many planet ore slots so there's just not as much for this mod to work with.
Null 6. juli 2024 kl. 16:57
If this doesn’t work well with Industrial Overhaul, does that mean it won’t mix well with Better Stone either?
Siv  [ophavsmand] 4. juli 2024 kl. 12:35
@beskyeduardo - No, this mod does not alter ore per voxel mined. That's an interesting idea, though. I may add it to a future release next time I have the itch to play and mod SE.
beskyeduardo 30. juni 2024 kl. 16:58
Hi, can this mod affect the amount of "stone" per voxel obtained? i'm looking to reduce the stone obtained, like "configurable parameters" do in the others ores except stone...
Siv  [ophavsmand] 29. juni 2024 kl. 12:48
@Mr. Meat - Please join the discord and provide your space engineers log.
Mr. Meat 27. juni 2024 kl. 21:55
Your world will not load if using this mod with More Npc Encounters V10
X-PLODERRESIDENT 12. juni 2024 kl. 11:54

Typhon Plume 12. mar. 2024 kl. 23:52
@spacegame Saddly mods like this have a high chance of not generating visiable surface patches. Espcially if there altering a already saved game world.
sSpaze 6. mar. 2024 kl. 8:37
is there a reason i see no visual ore patches on the ground
Scorpion King 9. feb. 2024 kl. 21:25
No madder what I do the rarity does not change. I have Magnesium set to 50 Iron, Silicon, Nickle set to 6 and i will still get just as much Mag as everything else. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Teamson 23. jan. 2024 kl. 9:12
@kinngrimm Sadly i could not even spawn a world with both mods activated. (could also be another mod involved tho). I had to move to another deep ore mod.
kinngrimm 22. jan. 2024 kl. 17:22
"It's recommended to use this mod on a new world. Loading it on an existing world can cause some weirdness."
so first generating a system with Star System generator
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2789619117
and then apply changes with "Confirgurable Ores" is viable?
kinngrimm 22. jan. 2024 kl. 16:44
Concerning "Configurable Parameters " Does the load order matter?
Siv  [ophavsmand] 21. jan. 2024 kl. 14:11
@Teamson - Some modded planets have errors in their ore mappings which can cause issues with this mod.
