how do i use this? for some reason it plays the base mod explosion with the hl1 explosion, that might just be an issue with the original, though.

i know it's a HD port of the original sprites, what i meant was, is there a version of this with the original explosion sprites, without the upscaling of the textures

Yes, but it is higher quality versions of the original sprites. If in the future it is requested enough. I will make a full LD Port with Point Sampling.

it does the default explosion and seconds after it does the hd one, and the smg explosion doesnt work

Yeah, those have their own sprites. Anything that uses the build in HL2 Sprites it is compatible with.
