@AT not in a timely manor I don't think am a few DLCs behind and don't have much time. I will add it to the list of to do's. But fel free to update and take over the mod if you wish to.

@Demonchild any chance there will be an update?

AnotherExample it doesn't seem to matter much where it goes in the order, nothing else really touches what it does.

We use it with Planetary and real space. But should work with any that dont touch the lanes.

Nice Idea! Where does this go in load order. And yes is this compatible with immersive beautiful universe, real space, ships in scaling, planetary diversity & Sensor Expansion? Would be so cool!

How can i make this compat with immersive stellaris please?

Doesn't work anymore ? :(

@cizmsept I haven't worked on this since getting it to a state where it worked for the pack I wanted it for. Not sure when i will get a chance to work on it again, but will try and fit something in over the next week and do a version without the hyperlane changes.

Will also tidy up some of the unnecessary files and code left in.

That fog or war is perfect, it is exactly what, I think, should be the vanilla default system.

My only existential problem is that I'm more a pastel, low-key, transparent color connaisseur. In the art of "Light Borders Mod". Therefore, my eyes burn before those vibrant green hyper lanes and full colored territories. Poor me.

My only technical problem is that I exclusively play with GFN hence don't have acces to the game files, and can't do the magic myself.

I know it's not your plan, but would you consider a simple mod that would be the fog and unknown Galaxy set up ?

I'm a spoiled Stellaris beggar, sorry.

You've completely nailed the spirit of the game though. Great work !

@roec9 Yeah it was pushed out in a rush to get it working for some coop play in our game pack. It can be refined a lot. I just haven't had the time to get back to sorting it out yet. So its all set up in the quick and dirty way

Great mod, was trying to figure out how to do this myself. One note, by replacing the entire "defines.txt" it becomes incompatible with some other mods. I'd suggest just a targeted file. I used this for myself and everything works fine.

NGraphics = {
STAR_PIN_CIRCLE_RADIUS = 0.0 # The lines that go from solar systems down to the 0-plane. This is the radius of that circle
STAR_PIN_CIRCLE_NUM_POINTS = 0.0 # how many points in the circle on the 0-plane
MAPNAME_NEBULA_SCALE = 0.0
}

There isnt a switch. Its a pack setup the way my group want it. If you want to make your own in the mod folder, go into gfx>fx and remove the two hyperlane files
Kepos 18 May, 2023 @ 1:07pm
BTW, is there a switch to turn the galaxy lanes back to normal color? Shiny green seems a bit excessive for my taste...
Kepos 18 May, 2023 @ 12:50pm
Great, thank you! Missed the old Fog of War mods. Very challenging and fun if you do not know the whole galaxy from day one. :steamhappy:

Ah brilliant! Will give it a playtest later on today and will let you know!
Demonchild  [author] 18 May, 2023 @ 11:56am
It should show lanes and should increase vision with sensor range, I hope anyway. Much has changed in the files form when the older mods worked so am still working on fully testing this out.

Got it to this working stage and will work on it more as i have time.

Let me know if you find any issues and I will try and deal with them or feel free to take the files and rework as needed, its pretty messy atm, Will stream line the code changes in time.
Eyleus 18 May, 2023 @ 9:24am
And does establishing communications or if another empire agrees to active sensor link show lanes?
Eyleus 18 May, 2023 @ 9:13am
This looks great! Will sensor range increase visibility. From stations and such?
