i don't recommend making seed oil this way in modern times unless you NEED the oil from the seeds and have NO access to better tools (seed oil presses come to mind for home production, and for industrial production, powerful solvents are used after the seeds are crushed and pressed). also worth noting, if you are in a survival situation, i can't imagine you'd get enough oil this way to make up for the calories spent making it. be smart out there!
0. before you start, you may or may not want to heat the seeds, depending on what kind they are and personal preference. your choice here will affect the taste of the oil.
1. get your seeds and put them in the mortar.
2. start grinding them up with the pestle. you will almost assuredly have to add some water in the mortar before the end of step 3. the less water you use, the less water you will have to evaporate off later.
3. keep grinding the seeds until you have a nice, fine paste.
4. take a cloth, put the paste in the cloth, and use the cloth to squeeze out the liquid from the particles of crushed seed.
5. if you added water (which you almost assuredly did), allow the water to evaporate, or boil it off.
congrats, you are now left with a minuscule amount of seed oil!
