Respectfully, take your time. Mods take time to update and integrate into new versions of games. That said, please hurry! All my mods have ruined my tech tree and I need this! :'(

Be patient. Some mods need time for their authors to update their mods. This is the early period where broken mods and buggy updates will probably be very common.

It seems to work quite well with VFE: Tribals if you use Ferret's mod together. .

Mlie's Research Tree fails and ends up in a stuck loop when first loading Research screen, but this one works well

Just don't use RR: Stepping Stones with it - it crashes my game using this combination.

This mod allowed me to queue Ultra Mechtech by only having a mechanitor. The chip studying prerequisite is ignored.

everfearful try it out, if it doesn't fix it you can use dubs mint menus it changes the research menu to be a list rather than a tree

I'm using Research Reinvented, and my layout of the research tree is a nightmare of things overlapping, branching in random directions, and the like. Can this help with that problem?

So whenever I add this mod to my game, my tabs at the bottom all disappear. I can't do anything with it unfortunately. Removing the mod brings it all back.

Alright. Restarting the game resolved it, though it did "freeze" while going through the initial pre-menu loading screen as it loaded the mods.

I noticed something odd. At first the mod worked fine, but once I switched the tree view to group research by tech level, the descriptions for said tech would start flickering in and out of existence when I mouse over them. I'd also hear the click sound repeating the entire time in sync with the flickering tooltips.

I don't know if its because of a mod conflict or not. I will need to investigate further.

@vallox not sure if you're still having the issue or it was addressed elsewhere but most times i have that issue people say it's a mod conflict with Allow Tool

I don't know why but, when the mod is active, i can't do anything when i launch a game, no interaction with the environment, animals or colon, no acces to the esc menus (obligate to alt+f4 to quit) and when i mouse over somthing who have a mini "black text screen", they stay on the screen and overlap...

I have tried Elytra's fix and that seemed to have worked for today. I fiddled around yesterday after I posted and couldn't replicate the issue, so it seemed like it must have been a once-a-day, first run of the program when it appeared.

I think it may have been some minor corruption issue, because the mod worked well for the first week or so it was installed.

I will add more details if they become available.

@Daleus I had the same issue and ended up unsubscribing and deleting the workshop folder before re-downloading the mod. That seemed to do the trick.

@Aziz @Daleus I'm currently unable to recreate this issue. Is there anything in the debug log? Do you have other mods installed? Can you replicate the issue with an install of just the base game/expansions, this mod and harmony? If the issue only occurs with a specific mod, which one?

The mod work perfectly, but every while its disactivate itself and I need to re-enable it from the mods page in the game.

I think I've found another exploit. It's possible to add unavailable researches to the queue by selecting a later research (things branching from techprint / mech chip locked projects, plus some others if you downgrade your research setup).

As long as you don't re-open the research tree, the locked project will stay active and can bypass techprints [i.imgur.com]. You also can't directly dequeue a locked research, but it'll vanish the next time you open the screen anyway.

Thank you everyone for notifying me. I had a mini heart attack when I woke up and saw 8 new comments. I went "Oh no, what did I break?" I've fixed the "_copy" issue. I was unaware that making a backup changed anything from the original.

@Ryzzoa I didn't notice the property I was using "CanStartNow" also had a requirement of prerequisites completed, which defeated the point of queuing. This had been fixed. Thank you for the notice.

for a quick fix, open folder/about/about.xml

then turn<packageId>Neigh.ResearchPalRepackage_copy</packageId>
into
<packageId>Neigh.ResearchPalRepackage</packageId>

I had the same issue as A.Nimo, I deleted the mod, unsubbed and resubbed and it's working for me, sort of, now I have Ryzzoa's problem, but with different techs. Wish I could give you logs or something, but there's no error messages now.

@NeighMeansNeigh, I dunno what you changed, but Rimworld claims the mod is missing.
Then I add it to the modlist again, then start the save game and it's missing again.
I even deleted cache, unsubscribed and resubscribed. :(

Appears to have un-greyed out, after researching blowback operation, but still seems weird that I couldn't queue it up with blowback being worked on.

Was gas operation (making smgs and such) blocked for something too? Had it in my queue and now its out and greyed.

@cass Thank you for letting me know. I have pushed an update to make mechanitor nodes unavailable if you don't meet the requirements. Currently the research nodes won't tell you why they're unavailable, but perhaps I'll delve a bit deeper into the code and see what I can do.

Seems to be slightly incompatible with Biotech, you can queue mechanitor researches without the chip requirements.

So, I hope I understood this correctly. Maybe it's interesting to someone else, too:

There was a mod called Fluffy's Research Tree (A). It was forked by Charlotte and called ResearchPal (B). This was forked by VinaLx under the name "ResearchPal - Forked" (C). This was forked by Owlchemist under the name "ResearchPowl" (D), but recently discontinued (still working).

The 1.4 version by miku567 is an update of A.
The 1.4 version by you (NighMeansNeigh) is an update of C.
