Wow great tome. But sorry for complaining about this, would it not make more sence if it was nature-shadow instead of only shadow? Since it has blight and zombies that makes some sence I think

Does it work with "Primal"? The "Symbiotic parasitism" spell makes your race sick, but the "Primal Mire Crocodile" culture makes your race immune to the disease... what happens if you combine the two?

fun thing is that even if fetid zombie can eat living ally and ally isn't killed, it's balanced because fetid zombie is weak without this bug. if you want to fix this bug, buff fetid zombie too.

bug 1 : fetid zombie can eat living ally. they get buff but ally isn't killed.
bug 2 : fetid zombie assimilate corpse skill description is wrong. it increases defense actually, but description says it increases resistence(wrong).

I find the mod rather balanced, the summoned army is weak and does not allow snowballing, I think some people just stop on the text without having tested it. I agree with the review just below

i dont think its op early, cause most of the things you dont use early anyway, the zombie army has no health and no dmg, soulfarm is usefull, but you still need some growth early, same with the town spell, enchantments are fine, fetid zombies are fine,
on higher difficulties i dont see why i would pick this tome early, you cripple yourself more, a little later i would take it to get more souls, the summons get pointless at this time, the zombie arrmy as decoy maybe has its usefullness
maybe these guys use the undead mod, so u have far more units early which need souls as resources

I plan on keeping this as a T1 tome, but I welcome any ideas on how to balance the specific skills provided. I hear raise civilian zombies and rancid presence are a little too strong, so I will plan to make readjustments without changing their main mechanic. What other skills do you believe are too strong or too weak?

after some testing, love the awesome tome conceptually, but yea little overpowered for a t1 tome, maybe the raise civilian zombies spell can be 1 unit only but high hp like 80 with many models but weak damage and cheap cost? Also the radius and density graphics on the rancid presence enchantment and symbiotic parasitism could be reduced by maybe 30%? I love the look of them but the graphic effects are a little too much on the world map and combat, could be toned down a little, especially when you have a lot of these guys on the map it could be very taxing on the graphics card.

Also, revisiting to say that this mod is conceptually awesome, but the balance is a bit too off for me to fully enjoy. Thanks for the creativity you've shown, and if you ever feel like doing a light version (or just making it T3 or something) this would be a first-pick tome for several of my Godir!

Funny enough, it was originally my goal to set soul income equal to 10% of total food income while still removing 50%. The problem was that the engine does not easily support converting resources like that. I actually like the way it is now, because to maximize its output, a city would need to already invest in soul-improving provinces.

I love this!

Though Soul Draft seems really, really strong. I'd say maybe like a soul income equal to 1/3-1/2 of the food would be a lot more balanced, and still feel strong!

Just wanted to drop a quick note to say I love this mod. Combined with the Tome of the Swamp, and Tomb of Blight this creates a much more satisfying Undead/Necro game experience. If I had any criticism it would be what others have already said, that the summoned Fetid Zombie would look much cooler in manual combat if the unit had more models. Maybe a group of 2-3. Otherwise great mod, and thankfully not too over the top. Have Fun :)!

On paper, at least, Soul Draft looks like it would an absolutely massive soul income that's relatively easy to get. Sacrificing 50% of the food from one city is a relatively significant cost, but not too bad and even at a 1:1 food:soul ratio that's a pretty huge payoff.

A tier I tome with an ability to summon a full army? Bro, it should be at least tier 3 just for that alone. It does not matter that they are bad units, meat shields for thin air, whenever you want are insanely strong.

The racial transformation that gives you disease is very strong with the other mod Tome of Blight.

Also The zombie summon only has 1 model so it doesn't suffer from model attrition, it doesn't seem like it should only have 1 model? idk.

i think symbiotic resistance should be Status Resistance, instead of Resistance, it fits better with the text and +3 Resistance is very overpowered for a tier 1 tome

Rancid Presence is quite strong, but its effect only applies at the beginning of each turn and only enchants undead units. Given that the undead units in this tome are weaker than average tier 1 units, I created this enchantment mainly for them to give them a boost and to promote aggressive swarming behavior.
