Is it intended for shields to gain an aim bonus and mobility bonus that basically cancels out the intended trade off for more protection?

Enabling this class makes it so that all classes who can use a shield have that effect, although I guess accommodating to other classes is outside the scope of this mod.

But perhaps you should make a note of that, as I didn't see it anywhere on the description.

The changes also carry over to shields used for sparks/mecs. I was wondering which mod cancelled out the mobility/aim bonus from shields and found out it was this one.

@Tahanok2 yea, when testing with just sword & shield, the class felt too overpowered in my opinion. But I left the sword in but disabled it in case someone really wants the option to run with sword and shield. And I also added the option to enable the secondary slot "empty" so they could run with just sword or knife only. I'm also not %100 sure that all the knife abilities work with sword which is another reason I chose not to enable it when I published it. And lastly, Shank is more of a knife term so I wanted to stay true to that. ;)

I notice in the config files that the primary swords are listed but disabled by default. Is there a particular reason, or just preference with the name of the class?

@GrimAtrament not really since I don't use RPGO but any modder is welcome to do so. You can already sort of make a knife/shield build in RPGO but the available perks would be different.

Bit too much if you ask me , try it out with 20€ ( I think it's ideal price , for your work , maybe 30€ and then if you got success then geth higher price)

i got some ideas fore Hero classes :
Reaper with saved-off shotgun
Reaper Scout ( shotgun or pistols , maybe holotargeter )
elemental reaper ( somthing like the Bulletmaster )

skirmisher - grenade launcher
or with cannon

skirmisher blood mage ( sacrifice your hp for raw psionic power , i thing " nightblade " is caled that class
skirmisher hunter ( same gun as reaper but with saved-off shotgun )

By default, it gives the original classes the ability to carry pistols. Except for the sniper and the Templars. For example, for Technicians, I stuffed their glove into this slot, and into the secondary rocket launcher. If desired, you can prescribe any secondary to them...

Perhaps you should contact the author of True Primary Secondaries [BETA] and ask him to make changes to the secondary weapons from Long War. If this is not possible for you...

it has probably to do with knifes being LW2 secondaries. i never could make those work with TPS

funny thing that ballistic shields works with tps :/
and all kinds of samurai / ninjas / akimbos. only your class somehow can't equip knife.
i mean i get that there must be some difference between primary secondaries, i'm just wandering if we could figure it out somehow

@It's me @Shaggoth (Ищезаяц) I'm sorry if TPS isn't working correctly, but there's no way for me to "finalize" this mod under TPS when WotC Ballistic Shields requires PS and none of my other required mods use TPS either so I'm afraid that the only thing I can do update my Description to call out TPS not being compatible with this mod. I'm personally not a fan of TPS because of other issues that I've seen in the past with other mods so I've always played/tested with PS.

Again, I apologize if your having issues, as I do not have the knowledge to make this mod work with TPS.

I don't have "Primary Secondaries" because it says "True Primary Secondaries [BETA]" instead. And the author said that they would not work together. The author also strongly recommended that everyone replace the first mod with the second one, as far as I remember, due to some technical errors. I beg you to finalize the mod under "True Primary Secondaries [BETA]"...

@attiladuran123 yea, that appears to be their take on a Skirmisher build which is what I did with my Skirmisher in my Hero Class mod. If I had enough interest, I'd make another Hero type class, so it's indeed possible.

@It's me That sounds like you are missing a required mod like Primary Secondaries which allows secondary weapons in LW2 Secondary Weapons mod to be equipped in the Primary weapon slot. Please make sure that you are subscribed to all of the required mods and their required items(mods).

I would love to fight an Advent enemy unit that uses a stun lance and a shield, it could have unique abilities where it has full cover all the time due to the shield and advent units could get behind them and use them as portable cover.
