maybe you could make the smg sound lower quality so it sounds like its doing more damage

This isn't exactly a fix, more or less a preference. I like it but that's probably due to bias. The icon is just a reference to the opinion that the default sound is too loud. If you don't like the sound, just unsub the addon. If you want to explain why you don't like the replacement sound, please do say so as it's good for me to know in the future.
