Money lol, plus it wasn't me personally working on the mod, it was taranchuk, me and nameless split the cost to pay taranchuk originally but Zal offered to take over.

Hey everyone! Zaljerem and I discussed in some DMs, he will be taking over MAG with his version. The three new biotech buildings will be added to his version! While I won't be taking down this version of the mod, it is officially discontinued. First, let me apologize. I probably should have kept my fork private, but I like the mod a lot and got excited to share an updated version. I did try initially to update the Biotech components but they were and still are a bit beyond me. If you want I could add them to my version, or you could remove the content except the new pieces and we'd link to each other, or you can add my content - however you'd want to do it.

so...i got some bad news. he isn't willing to update his version with the stuff from this mod because he doesn't know biotech coding and its beyond his capabilities. but he is willing to allow you to have his patches and fixes into this version though. he wants to get in contact with you.

I was aware of it, but I didn't realize it wasn't just an update, but also a whole bunch of additional fixes and support addons. Looks like I'll just have to save up some cash and ask him to add the stuff unique to this version. I think that'd be less work overall. Oh well, in the meantime, enjoy the mod!

@Flockerkill Yes, I had the research assistant built; I was able to research T1 just fine. Removing *just* Research Reinvented and changing nothing else fixed the issue.

Update: Looks like Research Reinvented was breaking it, no idea why that would be though, because it did just fine with every other tech, including 2 other from MAG.

Having an issue in 1.4 where selecting T2 research causes my pawns to refuse research, despite having researched T1 just fine.

Could you pls have the strong archotech walls use the glowy texture and the primitive archo walls use the classic appearance texture in the Textures folder (labelled "j" and "adw" respectively) for the upcoming 1.5 update?

This is a great mod, my one suggestion is that you make the Archotech walls and doors paintable.

Nameless and I originally commissioned Taranchuk to update MAG to 1.4 since Mr. Kociak stopped development. We also paid an artist for artwork and paid Taranchuk to add the new content we wanted to add to the mod. I figured with how expensive the total cost for the update, new content and art was for the current version of the mod, even just the update alone to 1.5 would likely cost a decent amount. The next update to this mod will just be the update to 1.5. Any new content we are thinking of adding is purely hypothetical for now.:steamthumbsup:

by overestimated, do you mean like it was way more costly than you thought? and if it really is that expensive, maybe you should focus on getting the mod updated to 1.5 first, just saying.

@Mr. J Soda Just talked to Taranchuk (The brilliant mastermind behind the code), and I severely overestimated the cost for the update considering the update from 1.3 to 1.4 ,including the new content,cost several hundred in artwork and code. If I just purely get the mod updated with no new content, it will be considerably cheaper than I thought (around 15$ USD), but I don't want to set any dates since I can't commission him just yet. I also apologize for anyone who might think my previous comments about needing money were subtly asking for donations, they are not, I just wanted to make sure that no false promises were set.

Yes, but it will take a while, I need to save up quite a bit to pay someone to update this mod and add new features. Also, most modders are very busy right now so it might take some time for me to get someone to update this.

ah i see. and the psychic sooth event might also be the good archotechs. and the psychic drones might be evil archotechs inflicting pain. and of course the archotechs behind the anomalies would be considered very evil cause my lord these creatures and buildings are quite inhumane. you know, it would be neat if there was 2 factions of archotech, one the peaceful/good and the other being evil
