1.15 Update?

this mod definitely needs an update the window_culture.gui alone already needs an update it is way outdated and missing updated features, probably other files need to be updated too

@ExplosiveL99 I doubt it... entire culture hybridization code is hidden out of scripts and even if you enable button on UI there are still internal checks (one which you cannot overwrite with scripts)which prevent new culture from spawning.

Will this be updated some time in the new year?

I'm sure you already know this, but it seems like the latest patch broke the mod as it now blocks assimilation due to having a common heritage, which kind of goes against the mod. I also use the MB+ patch so I'm unsure if its this mod's or that mod's issue.

is it savegame compatible?

@Rute_Of_All_Evil Not that I know of, I do have some mods that change the other windows like the faith window, house window, and the realm window. Maybe that's the problem? I don't know, it's weird sort of.

@Birb You shouldn't need to be any specific size or rank. You just need to open the culture you want to assimilate, when you can't it just shows the button with a red "x" and the reason for why you can't use assimilation will show up in red text when you hover the button.
If the button isn't showing up at all it's most likely a mod incompatibility. How many mods do you have, anything that you can think of that might add things to the culture window?

@Ayatullah Khomeini Yeah, summer had me busier than I thought it would. But it is on my projects, I haven't forgotten. Honestly my biggest issue for it is deciding how to balance it, deciding which AI personalities want to do it instead of getting more gold and what not. @_@

I don't know why, but I see no "Assimilate Culture" button. Do I need to be a certain size or certain rank? Just wanna ask.

@Rute_Of_All_Evil I just started building a new playset with MB+. I haven't added this back in yet. What are the compat changes about? Are there changes to window_culture.gui? If so, I prob have to figure out if we can make a 3-way patch to add C&RM.

@Blazeknave No worries. ^^ That definitely sounds like a mod incompatibility - the files this mod changes are listed in the description, under "Compatibility". :) Culture Expanded isn't it though because I happen to have it and it doesn't touch any of the same files.

Putting it at the bottom of the load order should make it work, but it may break stuff for whatever other mod was overwriting it, so finding out which one it is would be best. Try the screenshot comparison test, see if you can identify anything different that's seems to be from any one mod or another on your list. If you can't or can't tell where it's from, that's fine! There are other ways to figure it out, they just require longer explanations so might as well try the simplest way first. xD

Also, oof. 6am sounds like a painful hour to be awake. x_x Don't worry for my part - I'm not in any rush.

@Rute_Of_All_Evil Thanks for the support! It's pretty much just acting vanilla as if the mod was turned off. Moving to bottom seems to make the most sense. Are there any vanilla mechanical files touched that we might be overwriting with other mods? e.g. Culture Expanded, etc.

My day started with sales calls at 6am.. hopefully I can take a break/nap and mess around this afternoon and test :D

@Blazeknave Hey! Glad you like it. :) I just did a quick test to make sure the new game patches didn't break it and everything is working, so it's probably a mod conflict. Just gotta figure out what!
What exactly is happening? Is the button not showing up? If so, can you think of any mods you have that might add buttons, or change the culture window in any way?
Maybe try taking a screenshot of it as it is now, then move Cultural Assimilation to the bottom of your load order, and compare to see if anything is different.

Hey @rute_of_all_evil - love this mod! not sure what happened or when, but noticed that it's not working anymore. Everything looks good in-game rules, but in-game, cannot hybridize. Not using MB+.

I believe found the issue, More Bookmarks+ made changes to two of the things Cultural Assimilation does. I've made a patch for it here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2993025257
Subscribe to it and make sure it's below both this mod and More Bookmarks+, and it should fix it. Let me know. ^^

Sure I can look into that. :) I briefly checked the "Promote Culture" task and it does seem the AI is pretty restricted into when it chooses to use it...I'm not quite sure how to balance it but I'll give it a shot.

Mod doesn't seem to work for me, sadly I first discovered it cause I can't assimilate cultures in my current Poland run even thought it doesn't say why.

I than checked and the assimilation law doesn't appear in my law list either. I assume it's because of one of my other mods, probably Culture Expanded - 1.8.2, More Bookmarks+, Cultural Armies Pack or Medieval Arts since these are the only mods that touch anything related to cultures on my list.

hey man I really liked your mod. But I have a request from you. Can you make a mod that makes AI to promote it's culture more? There has been some mods that doing that and they've been abandoned. If you can do that, that'll be awesome! Thanks for the neat mod.

Hmm...I think it's more of a personal preference thing whether player-only or not should be the default, but it's a good point about starting over, that completely slipped my mind. ^^;
I'll try and update with a fix for that today.

Great work, can you possibly make the default player_only_cultural_assimilation because that way it will be more save game friendly so we dont have to start all over since most people will want to be able to do this but not have the AI do it.
