i LOVE the concept, but i think it needs some work, you should try inspecting the weapons in game on lower graphics settings , i have a feeling that all of the detail will be completely washed out by compression, my suggestion to fix this would be to make the land on the map filled in the same colour as the lines, maybe that will help, great idea though.

Yo! Just to chime in a wee bit, the intention behind the map-based warpaint is to embody a classic map look with a splash of adventurous aesthetic! Think of an Indiana Jones styled map^ The warpaint will remain as is simply because it would go against the intent it's going for, plus it takes on an entirely different take on the map-based warpaints. (Definitely check out some others in the workshop, there are some pretty cool ones out there!) As far as for the text on the tan texture, most of the names are legit but there are only a couple with some light-hearted fun easter eggs thrown in to spice it up a bit^ Also, not sure if this is what was being referred to earlier, but the dark-gray texture contains a compass w/ longitude and latitude coordinates. All in all, we hear the feedback and we greatly appreciate the consideration and opinions thrown our way, it really helps steer the ship moving forward!

Using possible funny seeds as your reasoning doesn't really help the warpaint in any way. The texts do make it look worse, but, then again, I personally don't think a map theme can reasonably work as a warpaint.

It is kinda jarring, it's just text slapped on there that didn't fit and is going off the side because it doesn't fit or wasn't properly placed, which is really what it is.
Same goes for the text on the main texture to be honest, it's not really noticeable unless if youre looking very closely, however its a bit jarring when you do see it because it makes no sense logically to put an actual map on guns in this format. Instead you'd just make a map-like texture that looks like a map so that your gun would look like a map instead of being one, or you'd make the map only on the flattest side with the most surface area if for some reason you really did want it to be a map.
The text all around is a bit jarring and very opposing to immersion, and I don't think you should use it as an excuse to not make the secondary texture more interesting nor use it to reason that you put it on there for the sake of funny seeds.

without it, the secondary texture would look too pale. and now very funny seeds are also possible.
not to mention that the text is not very jarring in my opinion.

the text looks jarring on the secondary texture, other than that its not bad.

i was kind of bummed that this wasnt based on the "you're on your way to" loading screen, but im pretty sure that has been done already.
