But EPE is set to release their Lance update tomorrow and if past experience runs true they will not support Vulkan so if I decide to use EPE then I'll have to switch back to OpenGL.
But it's not a given for me atm because OpenGL causes other issues for me that are non negotiable, so I'd rather use the Vulkan renderer than EPE.
Using the Vulkan renderer it looks great.
Using the OpenGL renderer it looks horrid, the sea and rivers are black and zooming out turns everything black so I end up with a black screen with white border outlines and white font showing the names.
Makes it look so clean, and more real, with old-fashioned vibes.

Because you do not define the value of zoom_step_pre_mid in your mod.
Typically it would be defined at the top of the map_modes.txt file like
@zoom_step_pre_mid = @[zoom_step_mid-10]
And yes, I plan on making a map compatible with various Asia Extension mods too
