I added this mod along with SEModder04's "Armor Ramps & Panels Mod Pack" to the server I run. Everything was fine but we noticed that several previously unlocked items in the progression tree became locked again. The tiers for Jump Drives, Hydrogen Thrusters, and Decoy needed to be unlocked again (no issues doing so). I don't know which mod caused it but you may want to test for this with the current version of the game (1.189.0 from game menu). I did not do anything with the save files when I added the mods, so this seems to be directly related to adding the mods. Neither mod seems to be in the progression tree at all...which may be why the progression was reverted. Leaving this message on the other mod as well.

If im using your bluepring of the acclamator. Can I use the REPLACEMENT, instead of using this? My G-screen is already covered.
darksunrise957 27 Apr, 2015 @ 8:36am
Hm. Not sure if I prefer Vanilla or this. Borderless blocks would make painting parts of a platform look more realistic, but without the edging on corners, I feel it loses some of the appealing detailing... I'll have to experiment with this.

Any chance of adding the rounded blokcs here like you did for the replacement pack ? (I use both)
Merlock 28 Sep, 2014 @ 4:42am
Nvm, looks like you already did it :)
Merlock 28 Sep, 2014 @ 4:41am
Hey, is it possible to make them overwrite the current armor blocks? I already made huge structures but I want all those armor blocks overwritten with these.

@NeoCrusader, I'm not sure if the engine would handle that the way you expect. Also, changing hitboxes, even for basic cubes, requires fancy (expensive) software. I think there is a way to do it with freely available software, but just haven't looked in to it myself.

update:
KeenSWH have listed mods causing dedicated server to crash as a bug fix for v1.047.x
"-fixed several MODs which were crashing dedicated server"
I've just tested for myself and am able to place the edgless armor block without the server crashing.
Let me know if anyone still has problems. :)
DuckDuckGun 9 Sep, 2014 @ 7:25am
Like others already suggested, it would be awsome if you could make the hitboxes of these blocks just a tiny bit smaller than the visual model, so we dont have to use blast door blocks all the time.
Blast door blocks are fine for small doors inside ships, but for example if you want to build some large hangar doors, especially with heave armor, blast door blocks are just really ugly. Therefore it would be amazing to put your blocks on pistons and rotors without having to leave those ugly gaps.

However, nice work :)

@Rhedd, no worries. I've had that happen to me a few times with other people's mods and it's pretty annoying. Will do my absolute best not to cause that frustration for other people.

@bushbaby1234 Okay, thanks. I had some people report a similar thing with the centred solar panels mod a couple days ago. They'd place the block and it would crash the server but in single player it worked fine.

After some testing I found that it was not (that I could tell) a problem with teh mod but a bug with the server so I submitted a bug report on the KeenSWH forum and was hoping it would be fixed in today's 1.046 update.

I haven't tested this mod in dedicated server but will, just to make sure it's the same problem I was seeing with the other mod.

The bug report is at: bug report [forums.keenswh.com]
LabGoblin 4 Sep, 2014 @ 7:04pm
upon further playing today it seems that a bunch of mods seemed to crash it.
LabGoblin 3 Sep, 2014 @ 10:15pm
this mod seems to crash my server when anyone places one of these on an edged armor block. will provide any info wanted about it on request
Rhedd 1 Sep, 2014 @ 5:42pm
Man, never remove this mod or half of my small ships are just going to completely disappear! ^_^
infal  [author] 29 Aug, 2014 @ 12:37am
@claymore1984 The frame on the windows is part of the window model, with armor it's a seperate model. To remove it from armor is a simple coding change but to remove it from the glass would be a complete remake of the glass model.

You should post the suggestion on the official KeenSWH forum and, that way, someone who is better at modeling than me might make the edgeless glass.

Hi, is it possible to make a similar mod for glasses? the edges sometimes kill the perfect view :)
Landorcan 19 Aug, 2014 @ 7:16pm
I was replying to a previous poster comenting on how good he has done. and the Autor stateing he was at this time be very careful to do just basic asthetic mods due to not haveing the full keys to mods from devs yet. The fact that in other threads the same day some people where complaining that the modders will fix the game just stop adding stuff an release the game to keen.
infal  [author] 19 Aug, 2014 @ 6:53pm
I think Landorcan was saying in a general sense that if people get angry at modders then modders will become uninterested. I don't think it was directed at anyone specifically.

I think the modding side of Space Engineers will be fairly stable, as well. Technically Minecraft doesn't have a modding system, aside from resource packs. But, yes, the frequent updates from Mojang making mods incompatible was the reason I never published any Minecraft mods publically.
Syhkane 18 Aug, 2014 @ 7:43pm
huh? what are you talking about Landocan?
infAI's no borders mod is my absolute favorite mod right now.
I havn't complained. I'm merely requesting a flatter block. and I fully understand his position on branching out and updating.

If I had to take a guess, it doesnt look like Keen will be going threw so much that modders will have to rework everything they submit (cough looking at you minecraft cough) which I hope is TRUE because the more participation from the comunity, the better the gameplay can get.
Landorcan 18 Aug, 2014 @ 3:50am
This is why I worry about the posters that complain release game let modders have it . The modders should not be abused the way so many abuse the devs or they say simple screw this I came here to play too. People need to remember modders do it for love of the game and to share thier enjoyment not for a job.
infal  [author] 18 Aug, 2014 @ 3:47am
@Syhkane; I'd like to build more detailed mods in the future but not at this stage. For now, the mods that I'm willing to publish are simple aesthetics tweaks.

Once I've had a chance to see how much maintenance is required due to game changes by Keen, then I'll decide if I want to commit to releasing more detailed mods.

ie: If I have to fully rework mods every week, it's going to become a full time task. Subscribers will be angry that I'm not updating fast enough etc.

Other modders are publishing quite a lot of material though, so it might be worth while to post the request on the official Keen forum.

Syhkane 17 Aug, 2014 @ 3:41pm
I have a few requests.

A 2 long sloped block (like the large ship/station slopes, but normal armor and heavy armor.
I also need blocks that are half as thick as the regular blocks for each armor type so I can build myself wings. A 1x1 have thick slope, 1x2 half thick slope 1x1 regular block thats half as thick and so on. I'd appreciate it.

That way I don't have to rely on the very limiting wing designs people have been adding to the workshop and I can just build my own wings.
Blocks that shift between half and whole blocks so I can have seamless body to wing designs would be great too.
Landorcan 15 Aug, 2014 @ 5:24pm
ty the edges spoil many ship loocks when they intersect thrusters etc .The change to vanilla is better for me as I have tons of blocks. been using a different block set just to keep ship lines so could not use hvy till now.
infal  [author] 14 Aug, 2014 @ 11:57pm
@Syhkane, sure no probs. I've added a new variant mod which replaces the default blocks with edgeless blocks. Link is in the description above. :)

@LuckyStrike, No, the edges are the only change from the deault. It's purely an aesthetics only mod.
Syhkane 14 Aug, 2014 @ 4:59pm
Can you make a mod that just replaces the original blocks? I'd hate having to rebuild everything from scratch.
LuckyStrike 14 Aug, 2014 @ 3:34pm
Does this change the hitbox? I.E. can these be used to make blocks not destroy each other by rotors?
Darth Biomech 13 Aug, 2014 @ 2:39pm
It looks so naked without them, lol)
infal  [author] 13 Aug, 2014 @ 1:07am
No problem guys. I'm glad some people like it. :)

For me the edges are okay at the actual edge but edges around a colour change, like in the thumbnail, doesn't look good at all to me. Given the choice though, I prefer no edges.

@Varlun, it's a simple aesthetics change - pretty much what I wrote in the description.
JD.Horx 12 Aug, 2014 @ 1:00pm
Thanks for this. Hated those edges, especially on the small ships.
paul.a.lemars 11 Aug, 2014 @ 11:35am
This is a great mod. Cosidering how big my builds get I hate having those grey seams all over the place. Also I don't see the original seams being repeated in all of the new mods coming along so the original seams are even more obvious. I wish that either the game developer would provide an option to disable them or get rid of them entirely. They do nothing for the asthetics of the game and seeing a block deformed like a jagged pretzel is a pretty good indicator that it's damaged.
Rhedd 11 Aug, 2014 @ 12:45am
The edges look fine on some ships, but totally ruin the look of others. Especially if it's a dark color. I think I'll try this mod. Thanks!
Derpicide 10 Aug, 2014 @ 10:30pm
simple yet good
Shy 10 Aug, 2014 @ 8:29pm
Some people hate all the edges on the armour, because it makes them not look very sleek.
Varlun 10 Aug, 2014 @ 7:40pm
Why would anyone want this... I use the edges to tell if a block is fully repaired.
