Don’t worry an updated Akula is in the works
And it’s armaments are in line with the new Protoss.

To me this feels like the natural progression of merging the roles of the Akula and the Protos which serve close functions, the Protos being a more effective combat vessel corvette with more production and the Akula being cheaper and spamable escort (also a great AI vessel). Making the Protos smaller, cheaper and more streamlined makes sense, but I'd note the loss of two Gatling gun turrets makes it's ability to serve as anti fighter and drone screener less effective than the Akula at barely less PCU (and with drones being so easy that's not a good thing). Akula now is a stronger and cheaper ship. If I add a small refinery and basic assembler to the Akula and trade the static rocket launchers to static artillery I'm looking at 7,687 PCU and The MK VI was like 13,000+ PCU, so the new ship should find a niche between those two ships that's more effective than the Akula with some production added and cheaper than the VI. In the spirit of this I would suggest the following:

1.) An addition of two Gatling gun turrets on the engine nacelles between the two hydrogen thrusters on either side on the back as it also adds the benefit of being able to be fired superposition forward without being blocked by the front two Gatling turrets which would be an improvement over both the Akula and the Protos Mk VI.

2.) The addition of another two assault cannon turrets. This one is harder as there are no viable spots save for the sides where the lettering is and I'd perfer to keep that. The two spots that work best are either in front of the two gattling turrets on the sides (which limits their forward firing arc minimally, (Also it losses the lights which are nice.)) or on the top of the two hydrogen tanks. The latter choice is interesting as it basically makes you confirmed to be fighting with the top of the ship pointed at the enemy ship.
