@DJRomantech, when it comes to modding, I am kind of a nomad, I let my creativity lead me. I dont stay within one game - after EU4 I've shifted to Civ6, did minor mods for other games. Lately, been tinkering around Baldurs Gate 3 modding tools.

I've got a bunch of your graphics running, but also, the writing for this is feels better than the vanilla game, I like the tone of epic drama. I think there is lots of presentation paradox do with minimum effort because they know they will make their money anyway.

Are you working on any original projects? EU mods seem pretty good for testing fresh ideas.

loving this, this is what they took from us!!! desperate to rebalance ottomans and russia though now they keep blowing up and i kind of miss their menacing blobbing as a source of big boss drama.
id like to start the ticker later for wild bare knuckle endgame. also cashing out your spy network for a decay bump is a nice cross mechanic. im a junkie for mod balance now i barely play the game i wake up to find out what happened this time haha. great work.

Maybe you could increase the decay of other countries in a peace deal after you beat them in a war with a peace term?

Without your mod, EU is now unplayable. I really love the idea of a "final boss" disaster, and a mechanic to keep the AI in check as well. My only suggestion is to make it a bit harder for humans to avoid decay. I made it 300+ years earning only about 5 decay while multiple empires rose and fell.

I've been looking at the mod files. What is the reasoning behind AI always opting for the option "take as much sovereignity as you want" in the attributed event, rather than fighting for their dominions? It's not a problem to edit these values of course, I'm just wondering what's your own idea behind this?

I removed the trigger that stopped countries from having an eclipse, and the byzantines in my game have been eclipsing for 200~ years with various clamp mods on, and are still surviving as a GP. I switched my tag, and found out they had 50% more gov cap from luck. (Mod is ET during 800-1000)

it might not since it overwritte vanilla events which anbennar also edit, also it depends on vanilla religion. I have custom anbennar patch but not patched for religion bit yet, and it was for public-fork before it was out of beta, not sure whether I should share it lol

Could you make the event not fire when a nation's decay goes under 100 WHEN the disaster already started to progress (did not trigger yet, but started moving towards triggering)?

I will say, this mod likes to target the player. I play Georgia, expand a few times to accompass most of the Caucasus, lose some soldiers and get a bad heir and I'm already up to 40 decay in 1530 but Austria who had annexed a huge chunk of the lowlands and all of Hungary through diplomatic annexation, straight up took most of Greece without any claims, immediately declared war on Venice to take their land in the Mediterranean, and then declared on Bavaria and turned them into a vassal, wasn't even up to 30 decay by then. I knew they had barely done anything about overextension because I checked, most provinces had no cores for many years after. It seems rather unbalanced imo.

Yes, it can be easily fixed by deleting a trigger that prevents more than one major power from experiencing the disaster. But I think the mod developer has not written so for nothing. I hardly believe that in history 2 or three major powers simultaneously experienced a cataclysm that almost or completely destroyed them.

Seems like a good mod, and works with all the other mods I have installed. Some nations dealt with it with success, others utterly collapsed. I messed around with my CK2 converted game in the year 1720's with the console:


2nd great power Wei (China): Completely balkanized.

3rd great power Denmark: Lost Finland, lost Norway, lost Iceland. Bounced back to a great power pretty quickly.

4th great power England: Lost Argentine, Chile, Colombia, Ireland, Scotland, had massive peasant revolts. Stopped being a great power, but maintained Thirteen Colonies and remained a major power.

The only thing I don't like, is the disaster not happening simultaneously in several great powers, and only once a game. But I guess that's easily fixable by editing the mod files.

Thank GOD now empires actually collapse instead of living on forever with no instability. Does decay increase during the age of revolutions? I think it would make sense for it to.

I think it might be a good idea to remove the decay gain from re-electing a ruler if you have the consolidated power reform passed, because it just punishes you for making use of the reform

Do you have the latest update of the mod? It fires only for republics with non-unique government with some exceptions

@Plati this event has happened to me in two games in a row. One as byzantium and another as Persia. Its frustrating because I cannot do anything to stop it and both options are exactly the same except one gives a -3 to stability and the other a -2 to stability

Man, I understand the cultural intolerance event, but at least could you exclude the ones that are part of your culture group?
