what DLC do i need for this. it comes up as not ready in my dungeon maker. i have the lost valley and core game.
CoolLew  [author] 30 Jun @ 12:30pm
Thanks Spectre, I'll look into adding some more two-handed weapons
Spectre 30 Jun @ 9:47am
Great campaign, having played your previous dungeon this one was a blast in expanding on it. Seriously well done! One slight complaint is lack of two handed weapons my fighter had to slog it with a plus 2 maul for the latter half of the campaign while everyone else enjoyed plus 3 upgrades, would of loved a plus 3 great sword to finish off the final boss with. Maybe drop on from the giants? In any case again fantastic campaign cant wait to see what you cook up next!
Tofu Jim 1 Apr @ 6:54pm
I had a lot of fun with this! Unfortunately, I trounced the final boss because they could not save on the spell "Hilarity." It was my first time ever using the spell, I didn't realize it was so gamebreaking :(

This was so fun! Thank you for this!

Wizard Tower 'door puzzle' has no contextual clues and doesn't seem to be opening the door. The blue and orange lamps get lit and that's it.

thanks manager
managerimankeli 5 Oct, 2024 @ 2:33am
Aside from those issues I liked the maps and encounter design etc, so lotsa potential here. Thx for the mod and keep it up.
managerimankeli 5 Oct, 2024 @ 2:32am
I played until after the first dungeon. A major problem with this adventure, especially since it's hack n slash i.e. tactically focused, is that enemy encounters don't get pulled together. That means that if you use smart positioning and try to pull things in a controlled manner, you'll end up fighting only a part of the encounter. This ruins encounter balance. The alternative is running headlong into the room, which ruins tactical choice, which is, again, the major point of a hack n slash adventure. If you fix this one thing you'll drastically improve your campaign.

I liked dungeon design forcing you to complete the whole thing in one go, but this can also be improved by making sure long resting after every fight isn't an option (especially when druids/rangers make rations obsolete). For example, you could make a resting room at the start that gets locked after leaving it, and having the next long rest option midway though (that also becomes unavailable after leaving).

Great hack and slash, a lot of fun!
Thrilled 22 Apr, 2024 @ 6:43pm
Question.... are there many customized items? Me and my fellow players are kind of bored with the normal solasta items so would be refreshing with new ones showing up :)
ResumeMan 7 Apr, 2024 @ 9:46pm
So for the record, I just killed the Fire Giant King, and I got a popup message that said "you gain experience for killing the giant king" but...I didn't actually get any XP (apart from what I had already earned from the fight itself). All previous times I've finished an area I got the same message but with actual XP gain (usually enough to gain a level)

thanks rcnorm!
rcnorm 5 Jan, 2024 @ 1:16pm
I've just started and am loving it! A very unique and novel idea for a hack & slash! IMO, you've outdone the Ultimate Dungeon!
ResumeMan 30 Nov, 2023 @ 12:12am
In a first noodling around in this module I also couldn't get the companions to join. But I'm running a 6-man in UB, could that be it?
charles_watkins 25 Aug, 2023 @ 9:05am
If you have UB, you can get a spellbook from the Items tab. You can also do a respec, which will give you a second spellbook.
CoolLew  [author] 23 Aug, 2023 @ 3:43am
Thanks for the complements and the advice samnath1
sarnath1 22 Aug, 2023 @ 9:55pm
Steam cut me. Here is the rest of my post:

4) Loved the merchants but wished that the magic items guy had the mental books in addition to the physical one.
sarnath1 22 Aug, 2023 @ 9:55pm
I really, really loved this adventure. Please make another one like this! Please! Some things to note:

1) Except for Cyan's Lair, crawling through tight spaces required a Dash action or you couldn't get through.

2) I know its part f the story but I would like to have seen Hatchling Dragons (1 cell big) in the area with Cyan, in addition to everything else that was in there.

3) In one dungeon (Orc and Bandit lair?) there is an area that you have to crawl to to get to the spiders. If you don't go in and fight them, you will stay in combat for the rest of the dungeon! I kept trying to find a way in since I couldn't crawl through the opening into their lair without dashing and even then I would just barely get one character in. That battle went 42 rounds! Half the dungeon had loot laying around that I couldn't pickup because we were in permanent combat. If they won't come to you, then they should drop off the combat list.
Hamster 28 Jul, 2023 @ 10:16pm
You created a logical way to fight EVERY monster in the game, good job.
Arcadia 28 Jul, 2023 @ 10:08pm
Great hack and slash adventure, perfect for multiplayer or when you may simply want "less talk, more fight!"
CoolLew  [author] 27 Jul, 2023 @ 10:07pm
Thanks guys, you made my day. Btw, I am making later fights more challenging.
Delante'laquisha 27 Jul, 2023 @ 10:29am
A really great adventure. Exactly what i wanted and very fun to try out a new party with without the hassle of dialogue and story and all that. Fights were very good and challenging, although at a higher level i found myself needing to up the HP of enemy creatures to 150% of normal, and give them a small bonus to attacks and saves. I look forward to the next one you make!!!
pjlanzino 25 Jul, 2023 @ 8:02am
really enjoying this one, thank yuou
LaughingThunder 17 Jul, 2023 @ 4:45pm
@CoolLew Thanks for the tip about disabling the max spellbook level. I went from 11-15 in one long rest.

You need to try to enter zones in multiplayer. I believe that's when the problem is being generated (though I haven't seen it in other dungeons).

Thanks for several hours of fun!
CoolLew  [author] 16 Jul, 2023 @ 9:37pm
I will add empty spell books into the adventure, but if you need a quick fix, can’t you adjust that in the settings? To make a spell book unnecessary, I mean.
I don’t know why some of the zones act screwy, they all work fine during play testing, I think it’s a glitch with the game itself.
I will also make later fights more difficult, thanks for the info guys.
LaughingThunder 16 Jul, 2023 @ 5:28pm
@tishpeed My party is about to go to level 15 and has a dungeon left to go. Note that wizards can't go past about level 12 because their spellbook gets full, you can't buy a second spellbook, and the game won't let you go up levels if you can't add spells. Run a Sorcerer.
LaughingThunder 16 Jul, 2023 @ 5:23pm
About half of the "enter a new area" prompts require you to answer "no" to proceed (instead of "yes"). You never know which it'll be, so you try one then the other if needed.

DO NOT RUN A WIZARD in this campaign until CoolLew fixes the shop. You will be stuck unable to go to level 13 or so. @CoolLew please add a spellbook to the shop.

Other than these minor problems, it was a fun campaign. There were many fights where we only used warlock spells and only took temporary hit points (or none), but we were clever. I didn't think of skipping dungeons, but we probably could have. Adding a few critters to toughen the fights might be good.

If we had skipped dungeons, we would have skipped treasure and, with the scarcity of treasure in the campaign (you got lots of treasure, but at least half was redundant), it might have made it hard to play.

We played with 2 rolled characters and 2 standard characters.
Acadiantri 16 Jul, 2023 @ 4:21am
Starts with a couple of randomly hard fights, such as a tundra tiger at level 2. But fights become too easy. Skipped a dungeon or two and killed the final boss at level 13. Your last effort was a better challenge. At least turn the monsters to face the direction the party will attack them from. Also, group them together. The "join the battle in the middle of the fight without being surprised" mechanic can work well, but a rogue can sneak forward and kill the enemies one at a time without ever triggering the other enemies. Also, sitting around camp crafting is not much fun. Let the party find the best armor and weapons.
cbhypno 15 Jul, 2023 @ 6:18am
Maybe I'm blind(let's face it, I am sometimes), but I cannot find a blank spellbook for my wizard. Stuck not levelling to 13 because I don't have enough room in the original one to choose spells.
Nash 13 Jul, 2023 @ 7:16pm
To leave the map from a exit point, click ''no'' to the exit option and you can leave the map during a coop game.
It worked on this adventure for me and my friend.
Clef 9 Jul, 2023 @ 7:02pm
am i the only one stuck inside the cave?
CoolLew  [author] 6 Jul, 2023 @ 3:32pm
Rurren, I ran into that myself, it must be a glitch in the actual game itself, because it is nothing I can fix. The way we get around it, is have everyone leave the game, the host zone-out, then save and reload the game in multiplayer.
Rurren 5 Jul, 2023 @ 6:26pm
Just finished the dungeon Goblin and Bandit Cave with some people in multiplayer and it seems you can't actually leave the instance unless you're solo.
CoolLew  [author] 5 Jul, 2023 @ 6:44am
thanks Charles, you made my day
charles_watkins 4 Jul, 2023 @ 10:24am
Finished at level 16 with no issues other than lack of proofreading. As advertised, a straight up hack'n'slash with a good variety of maps. It was a great way to try out some of the new races and subclasses in UB.
meatpie23 3 Jul, 2023 @ 7:18am
Having the same issue with the hirelings. Spoke with each NPC left to right, and nobody joined the party. Still having fun with the module regardless! Thanks!
Hikop 2 Jul, 2023 @ 2:09pm
k, thx. I'll go back and see if that works this time.
CoolLew  [author] 2 Jul, 2023 @ 12:14pm
Hey kop, you should be able to just talk to them, and they will automatically join your party. However, it's my first time trying to put them into the game, so maybe they're buggy.
Hikop 1 Jul, 2023 @ 5:33pm
how do you get those hirelings at the start to join you? I might just be dumb but I'm not seeing a way to actually add them.
CoolLew  [author] 27 Jun, 2023 @ 2:37am
Thanks Artyoan, I didn’t know that.
Artyoan 26 Jun, 2023 @ 11:01am
@Coolduud, some transitions are doing this as a base game bug. Try pressing 'no' when prompted and it should take you through. If that doesn't work, you can get through in singleplayer, then reload multiplayer.
Erfirion 25 Jun, 2023 @ 2:54pm
Me and my companion can't enter the dark damp cave. The game just loads back to us being outside of it?
CoolLew  [author] 25 Jun, 2023 @ 12:14am
Firfurz, I found the problem and fixed it, thanks for your help!
Firfurz 24 Jun, 2023 @ 6:17pm
Hi. The save file calls the place Orcs and Ogres. The place where the issue happens is WELL past the Orc Common room, at the end of the level, between the areas with the locked door and the area with the fight with the big ogre and skellys right before the door that leads to the exit. Can't tell you the name of the place from the outside because it won't let me leave through the way I came in. I hope this is enough info. Put a screencap in the link below.

CoolLew  [author] 24 Jun, 2023 @ 7:37am
Thanks Spectre, Raccoon, I'll look at the hirelings and see if something is amiss. Firfurz, I could have the enounter set incorrectly, can you remember what fight it was?
I meant to say that this dungeon is a work in progress, I'm still play testing it, I only uploaded it already so my RL friends could help me playtest. Sorry if it's buggy.
Firfurz 23 Jun, 2023 @ 10:22pm
I'm finding something that might be a bug, or maybe the perception distance for enemies is set too high: Can't recall which one, but in one of the dungeons, at the end, you fight a troll and a few other enemies and the game spawns ONLY in the combat tracker a lot of skelly archers and units that are nowhere to be seen in the battlefield, even if I open the door to the exit teleporter next to it or if I go back to the locked door a bit behind and fight the captain and his mutated beast there. Those enemies are nowhere to be seen, don't react to anything, and won't let me finish the fight, and they're not reachable in any easy way. IF they're not taking part in the fight, they should not be added to the combat tracker. That's why I think that their detection distance is set wrong and just get triggered, when they might not even be anywhere near.
Mad Raccoon 23 Jun, 2023 @ 8:53pm
The hirelings aren't joining the party, something I'm missing?
