For everyone saying "there's a reason there are welding masks".

Damn son, I didn't know I was supposed to buy a welding mask and keep it on my desk:steamfacepalm:
KalashniFox 29 Oct, 2016 @ 8:18am
Really the default is more realistic and actual welding will burn your corneas if exposed to light w/o protection. Of course this is just a game though. I suppose though, in SE, the helmts would have integrated shading things in the helmets like modern welding masks.

idk, I've seen welding first hand and its much brighter then whats in game. There is a reason why they make welding maskes.

I'll finally be able to weld in the first person without bleeding eyes!
plaYer2k  [author] 14 Aug, 2014 @ 7:11pm
Well the explanation why it looks like that is some modern technology helmet. It automtically adapts to the brightness and tones the bright peaks out. That doesnt over an oversaturation effect which would appear as if the surrounding area is darker.

Just like looking into a lamp, the area around doesnt become darker, it just appears so.
Zaxorpt 14 Aug, 2014 @ 12:21pm
this isnt realistic. in reel life there is the light in the middle like normal but arount it it is blak. i know i have tried it. :D
Chev Chelios [SVK] 13 Aug, 2014 @ 6:23am
Yeah, I put it to my server and what does the trick :)
Thank you.

If there were such an option.... the only way to do that i know about is using the SEServerExtender. A wrapper that lets you write plugins for the dedicated server you can find here http://forums.keenswh.com/post/server-tool-seserverextender-expanding-the-dedicated-server-6955596

So far the player speed doesnt seem to be exposed in an easy to alter way yet.
Dark_453 12 Aug, 2014 @ 7:47pm
sounds.. "upbeat" sorry not my thing. but glad to help- with all your mods- you fancy ajusting the players max Speed to say 40Ms? for people who say "players should not be that fast"- there must me a wait to edit it down- (the option would be nice "Looks at KSH")

But............ since someone made this--- Thank you- my ears thank you as well :) (sweat)
Dark_453 12 Aug, 2014 @ 7:31pm
I ware sunglasses while i weld.-- works nice and adds to the RP :)
plaYer2k  [author] 12 Aug, 2014 @ 1:55pm
The problem is that both use the same texture right now and i dont see a way to work around that.

I however published the texture removal version aswell now https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=299651075
I hope that pleases you.
Chev Chelios [SVK] 12 Aug, 2014 @ 1:31pm
Yeah thats pretty ok, but I think grinder doesnt need to be toned, only the welder is killing my eyes.
plaYer2k  [author] 12 Aug, 2014 @ 1:12pm
Heh thanks for following and supporting Rabenschild :)

Chev, how about this version? http://youtu.be/SAY88oqdbqI
That is the version without a texture. I guess it cant get any darker than that because the welders light emission seems to be hardcoded (unless i missed something).
Rabenschild 12 Aug, 2014 @ 12:49pm
Thanks for this mod!
Chev Chelios [SVK] 12 Aug, 2014 @ 12:33pm
Nope, but something that it doesnt burn your eyes out when you play it during night. About how much / did you lower the brightnes? Maybe like 90% would be ok? Or?
plaYer2k  [author] 12 Aug, 2014 @ 12:31pm
Would you want a completely removed welder glare mod?
Chev Chelios [SVK] 12 Aug, 2014 @ 12:29pm
Hmm ok then. But block color doesnt affect it at all, as the block gets it color right before its finished..... Should be toned a bit more then.
plaYer2k  [author] 12 Aug, 2014 @ 11:27am
Well you might not see the difference then because i toned the brightness down a lot but it is still significant when welding depending on the backgrounds color (bright blocks especially) and the angle (the strongest when normal to the plane).

I will however upload a video in a few minutes that shows the current setting for comparison.
Chev Chelios [SVK] 12 Aug, 2014 @ 11:21am
I know how to put mods on a server, as I have 3 ither mods and theyre working, so IDK where is the problem.
plaYer2k  [author] 12 Aug, 2014 @ 11:15am
It should work on dedicated servers, given that the mod support actually works right when.

But that sure requires you to be the server host and that you add the mod to your server so that it pushes the mod to you as client.

It wont work if the server does not have this mod and you connect to it with such a mod in your modding folder.

You could however change the textures manually in order to achieve the changes.
Admiral Rivvion 12 Aug, 2014 @ 7:56am
thank you for this

Chev Chelios [SVK] 12 Aug, 2014 @ 7:43am
Does this work on dedicated servers? As I put it there, but I dont see any change.
doctorkickass 12 Aug, 2014 @ 1:04am
Thank you, I hated the glare, especially watching let's plays... hopefully people will use this more or there is an official fix.
plaYer2k  [author] 11 Aug, 2014 @ 8:15pm
You are welcome :)

This was like the most annoying thing in survival and now it finally got adressed :D
Varlun 11 Aug, 2014 @ 8:07pm
