@Hecleas After try this mod in big battle, i find damage melee/ranged is pretty well equilibrate (in compraison to extra longer battle).
But :
- Magic spell heat hard arty/ranged unit, maybe too much magic wind
- Heroes are very week, even lvl 10+ they taken a lot of damage very quickly, some unit unit as dragon also
- The modification of speed on cavalry is frustrating, don't have the feeling anymore to control a speedy unit that can flank

I super duper agree with the premise, battles are always over so fast you can't enjoy it.
But I'm worrying if all these global changes will need a lot of patches or is it rather done in a way that doesn't affect tthe rest of the mods? like instead of edititing individual values it is done via script via modificators or something?

actually i think penalties are okay, it's balanced in a way. thought about the 50% hp but then remembered that 50% hp while still having like 110 armor for early game is pretty big so almost nothing can really kill you and as game goes on you can increase armor through equipment and skills. the penalties are okay in that your lord starts out essentially as a tier 1 unit, then by late game becomes equivalent to tier 4 or 5 but not that they can take on 2-3 units simultaneously of equal tier and tank

May I ask when you plan on releasing the updated version of this mod you are working on? Just curious cause you happen to be on so many projects with matched combat, sfo, etc.. Really happy for ya and seriously congratulations on being such an influential modder on so many different aspects of the game.

did you teach AI flank better on this mod ? because vanilla battle AI is terible on that , ewen then when AI have lots of cavaly .

I think reducing the penalties a bit would be better. I enjoy the concept of leveling my lord into a force.

I plan to delete the mod soon to republish it in a new reworked version.

The main change will be on the lords and heroes.
Instead of having these current penalties which I don't like.
This modification will be replaced to instead add a 50% reduction in the life points of lords and heroes.
Which will make the gameplay more realistic and leveling fairer

Battles are great. I am noticing the AI is a bit suicidal with missile though (not sure if related to this mod at all).

Charged a line of handgunners with full ammo into my melee line.

I was told that changing "melee_attack_interval" to 1 in the db_kv_rules_tables does not actually have an effect on the game. But, rather if you change the animation interval in the melee_weapons_tables for each unit you will produce an actual change in the frequency of attacks and animation of units. Apparently this also helps with Matched combat animations occurring even more frequently. I was told this by the author of the mod “Legendary Melee”.

Honestly that very...weird. I feel that the melee combat is much faster than in vanilla, and the long-range damage is also very high, so I don’t feel any change in the rhythm of the battle. There are also some Cathay lord skills that sometimes inexplicably kill my generals instantly...

I love how LL's are now just strong units instead of super heroes, they can change a battle but they can't win against an army alone, no more lords with 1000 kills.

Does this work for how the AI thinks because it currently masses the entire army in one stupid assasination against your lord for any battles you play, you as a rseult evaporate them but they ALWAYS kill your lord first 20 seconds of contact making lords and heroes completely worthless

Is anyone else having this issue? Seems like after 4 min to 5 min in battle the blood effects and all effects stop working. Was there a limitation that needs to be fixed for this mod or why this happens?

This is tops! Really enjoying the battles! Noticed after about 4min in the effects stopped showing up. Like the blood splat.. fire spit and the clash of metal/armor effect

I always play with a mod that gives infinite moral to all forces because I preferred fighting to the last man rather than still having a lot of forces still available to fight but they retreat. But I must say, after just playing one battle I love what you have done with moral. There is a very small amount of forces left and then they retreat. SO much more realistic and allows me to enjoy a battle much much more. I was originally going to ask if you could make a version with infinite moral but I think you have opened my eyes to something I was missing and opened me to a new level of strategy to enjoy in the game. Thank you Hecleas. Thank you very much for your passion.
