You’d have to disable it in the animation file
BloodyCrow_ 6 Jun @ 1:18pm
Is there a way to turn off the auto retracting when lifting up. trying to get a good angle to lock them but they keep retracting when i very slightly tilt.
Blorb 28 Feb @ 8:57am
Would it be possible to get sloped variants?
Amazing mod btw keep up the good work
Killerbee77  [author] 1 Jul, 2024 @ 1:03pm
Steam doesn’t notify me for those. You can ignore those warnings
"MrHindsight" 1 Jul, 2024 @ 11:39am
Is this dead? Left a report with no replies, or help. Plus August 2023 was the last update?
Malpherian 14 May, 2024 @ 6:49am
The last part was more about when you land with a large ship sometimes your landing gear will go boom, because the mass /weight of the ships, kinetic energy impact is too much to be absorbed by the landing gear.

(Think real life and why landing gears have shocks). The same thing happens if you drop a big block on a smaller block.

The damage calculation to the LG's HP is determined on landing by the mass of the ship and its impact against terrain or objects when you land or if your using an LG as a salvager how hard the contact is when they come into contact with another object or terrain.

Not sure what you mean on the last bit. There is another version that fixes the phasing if that’s what you mean but each pack has its own pros and cons with and without the fix
Killerbee77  [author] 13 May, 2024 @ 7:24pm
Well weight capacity isn’t really a thing with landing gear. That’s probably more to do with the HP of the block which these have a good bit more then regular landing gear due to all the steel plates they require
Malpherian 13 May, 2024 @ 2:59pm
What is the weight capacity of the gear?

Unfortunately, Most landing gear in general has a habit of blowing up when you land.

Which is why no one really uses it.

Have you fixed the issue with the gear disintegrating due to ship mass and gravity?

Thank you
Lampglow 25 Mar, 2024 @ 2:52pm
Excellent! Just what I was looking for as regular landing gear is a bit cumbersome when I want a smaller profile.
TiGeR 12 Mar, 2024 @ 7:57am
Hello
Thank you for your answer.
So everything is ok in my world.
I checked the Str Trek angular landing gear, which is also a bit problematic, but after minor modifications to the landing pad, I can dock normally to the connector without fear of sticking to the grids.
These are the nicest chassis in the workshop anyway.
Regards

The other version has the bounding box which will make it not phase through grids but WC weapons will target through it but the projectiles will not be able to pass through it causing it hit yourself though if friendly fire is off I don't think it should deal damage
Killerbee77  [author] 11 Mar, 2024 @ 10:02pm
There are tiny collisions outside the bounding box under the gears feet. They were to help with landing but sadly only work on voxels and not grids since they are outside of the bounding box
TiGeR 11 Mar, 2024 @ 1:48pm
Hello
I really like this mod.
However, I have a problem because the description says that the collision only occurs around the box. In my case, with the landing gear retracted, the collision reaches two blocks down below the box, you can pass through it, but you can't land without the landing gear extended because the invisible collision does not allow you to dock with the connector. I tried both modifications and it is the same. I don't know if it's intentional or if something in my world isn't working, but I based it on the description.
I tested 1W 3L 1H and 2W 6L 2H
Regards
DisasterAhead 16 Jan, 2024 @ 5:15pm
Ok! Thank you!
Killerbee77  [author] 16 Jan, 2024 @ 5:14pm
The non WC friendly one is less problematic and for the most part as long as you don't put turrets in problematic spots (right behind a landing gear) it probably won't be that bad. And if self damage on the weapons you are using is turned off then it won't damage your stuff either
Killerbee77  [author] 16 Jan, 2024 @ 5:12pm
Either one could land in a hangar but outside of voxels the weaponcore friendly one can phase through blocks so you would just have to get close enough to lock your gear and not slam it against the floor.
DisasterAhead 16 Jan, 2024 @ 5:06pm
Question, do I have to choose between letting weaponcore shoot through them and being able to use them to land in a hanger on a space station? Not a big deal if so, just wanted to clarify. Your work is amazing dude.
Killerbee77  [author] 18 Nov, 2023 @ 7:44pm
Yeah that one is doable as it evenly scales. Though I don't really work on these on my own time. All the landing gear in this pack have been commissioned with the main commissioner being Prometheus and the other fella added onto it by commissioning more SG vars
Kethor 18 Nov, 2023 @ 5:35pm
You assume correctly. My focus is on the 3 height. So without making it look goofy, is a 3W 9L 3H possible, like you did on large grid?
Killerbee77  [author] 18 Nov, 2023 @ 5:19pm
I assume by 1 block higher you mean how far it can extend out? Which it can’t fit the extra bits needed in the space. Atleast not without heavy shrinkage which then just makes it look goofy
Kethor 18 Nov, 2023 @ 5:08pm
Very nice mod. Could you please, please add a small grid version 2W 6L 3H. This would be so awesome and a very long search would be finally over.
Killerbee77  [author] 11 Nov, 2023 @ 1:49pm
Read top description. There is a link to one that fixes that but read the cons of it
Piachang 11 Nov, 2023 @ 5:21am
Great mod. One thing I have an issue with, if it has not been mentioned yet, if I land on a built platform the gear will get stuck inside the blocks. I have to remove the blocks so the landing gear can become free from the blocks.
Latom 🎀𝒜𝓁𝑒𝓍🎀 10 Oct, 2023 @ 6:39pm
good
Killerbee77  [author] 5 Oct, 2023 @ 1:23am
The only time I will add anything new to these is if it is commissioned. Even the new gears you see in the teaser are commissioned
Maeyanie 5 Oct, 2023 @ 1:16am
If you are still working on more of these, one with the same size as a piston would be great for easily replacing some common subgrid landing gear with Clang-friendly(er) ones.
Captain_chance23 28 Sep, 2023 @ 1:22pm
thanks appreciate it
Killerbee77  [author] 27 Sep, 2023 @ 10:24pm
Use this for no phasing. Read top description as there is a con to using this version

Description
Captain_chance23 27 Sep, 2023 @ 8:56pm
the landing gear are phasing through the ground in my world. small grid ones start to make my ships bounce around like a kid on caffeine. i cant tell why its doing this but it just is
[BR]SharkStrike 18 Sep, 2023 @ 8:46am
If it helps you. This mod would be excellent.

Unfortunately, this is a totor in disguise. Which in fact does not stabilize the grids.
Making it unfeasible for dedicated servers.
Killerbee77  [author] 12 Sep, 2023 @ 4:33pm
I have another set of landing gear coming out semi soon so I might can mess around with the idea
Killerbee77  [author] 12 Sep, 2023 @ 4:33pm
It be fairly complicated to add but potentially possible to some degree
Killerbee77  [author] 12 Sep, 2023 @ 4:32pm
I don’t believe it is possible realistically. I think it might could be somewhat done and faked but still somewhat determined via speed of the ship or gravity of the planet. I don’t think I could tie it directly to the weight of the ship though
[BR]SharkStrike 11 Sep, 2023 @ 7:52am
Just a suggestion and at the same time I try to consult about the possibility:
Would it be possible to obtain the real damping effect with subgrids (like wheel dampers) and a script lower the level, until it locks on an invisible point on the main grid?
Spikey 8 Sep, 2023 @ 9:56am
very clever mod bud nice!!!
Killerbee77  [author] 5 Sep, 2023 @ 9:56pm
It’s a somewhat rare issue to run into to but it does happen here and there. Glad everything is working good for ya
Airborne Elmo 5 Sep, 2023 @ 8:46pm
Yep thats what it was! Just had to unsub then delete the mod folder and resub, worked instantly. Hadnt run into that one before. Thanks! Great mod, excited to add it to my ships.
Killerbee77  [author] 5 Sep, 2023 @ 1:44pm
Retested it and it works fine on my end. Sometimes a download can be corrupted so you could try going into your mod folder and finding the ID for this mod and animation engine and deleting them both and resubbing to them. You might could narrow it down if you test another mod that uses the animation engine
Airborne Elmo 5 Sep, 2023 @ 1:14pm
I created an empty world to test it and only the animation engine and this mod is loaded (in respective order), still no dice. Im thinking its definitely something Im doing wrong on my end but not sure what.
Killerbee77  [author] 5 Sep, 2023 @ 11:10am
I’ve tested them recently though last Sunday and they were working fine
Killerbee77  [author] 5 Sep, 2023 @ 11:09am
Should be all you do. Id try the mod alone in sp by itself and the animation mod and see if it works then. Could be some sort of mod conflict
Airborne Elmo 4 Sep, 2023 @ 10:33pm
Apologies in advance if this is dumb question, but I cannot seem to get the landing gear to move. I have the landing gear and animation engine mod installed in the game but nothing happens when I toggle the on/off button. Is there something I was supposed to do with the setup to get the animation to work?
Thorn Blackwell 25 Aug, 2023 @ 8:55am
Nice!
Killerbee77  [author] 24 Aug, 2023 @ 2:42pm
Added 2 more SG variants and made them all airtight
Killerbee77  [author] 12 Aug, 2023 @ 8:21pm
I also have an entirely new set of landing gear coming out soon
Killerbee77  [author] 12 Aug, 2023 @ 8:21pm
I am adding a couple smaller sizes for sg
Thorn Blackwell 12 Aug, 2023 @ 12:57pm
I like that there are now larger landing gear for small grid, and I wish there more of them in a variety of sizes and heights, even if they weren't animated. I'm not sure why they settled on the ugly round landing gear for small grid. I really wish they'd just scale down the huge large grid landing gear to 3x3x2 for small grid.
