Currently player can place lot of item on the same title :(
You can change the rarity of 'other' loot in sandbox options, however, this will affect all loot that is not otherwise categorized. By the time you have Electrical and Metalwork skill high enough to build a tier 3 or 4 Storage-O-Matic, you will probably have a bunch of cards anyway.
If you want to find a lot of cards, loot schools, offices, and book stores. Desks and bookcases specifically.
I started trailer park at riverside, cleared that out, cleared out the secretz checkpoint on the way to riverside, and cleared out the far left neighborhood in riverside and have 21 cards. I suspect by the time I clear out the entirety of riverside I'll have 32+, which lets you build the 100MB - 4000 storage unit.
For full clearing one entire town, that seems a little OP to me. If I had more fine-grained control over the memory card spawn rate, I would drop it down to 25% of the current rate.
Clearing out riverside for a 1MB - 250 storage module seems more in-line with the pacing I want in my game.
If combined with the RV interiors mod it solves the issue of storage perfectly, highly recommended for those mid-long term nomad runs.
@LCyclic, this is the game checking for crafting recipes when you move in range of containers. The same as when you walk into a kitchen where a lot of food is stored and suddenly you have many cooking recipes available. It gets worse when you have a lot of big crafting mods like hydrocraft or ammocrafting. I also found that the game does not like big stacks of items, like 1500 bullet casings, or hundreds/thousands of unpacked screws and nails. Try packing stuff in boxes/pallets if you have that option.
@Space is alive, i have thought about that too, and i looked in the properties of cars, which have multiple inventories. This would probably be possible, but they will be predefined then, and cannot be changed by the player. They should not have specific names then, but something like partition 1, 2 and so on.
I will prepare a discord channel for anyone who is interested in sharing ideas, and talk about this mod, or zomboid in general.
But...my..my dream of having 200,000 storage..! How will I ever fit every item in the entire game all into a single storage location??!? :P
I'm far from my primary main base, and currently setting up a reliable safe house in another town.. so I haven't checked it in a little while. But when I'd last saw it, it still had 20,000. Will the changes apply retroactively? Like... when I get home, will it suddenly be at 4,000 capacity? Or is it going to remain at 20k? I don't know enough about PZ's framework or systems to say if those sorts of changes get pushed, even into saved games, or if it's just: Every Storage-O-Matic I build after the update will have the lower capacity, but the already built ones will maintain their higher capacity?
About what to do with so much space, in our game use the large computer for crafting workshop/car garage, and use smaller versions in the armory, kitchen, medical room etc....
(If you have 20000 storage in a tier 3 storage-o-matic, then you are running an old version and not the latest workshop version)
Because it's really difficult to want to store building materials along side your tailoring materials, along side all of your bladed weapons, along side all of your guns and ammo, ya know?
If it's not possible, I completely understand. I certainly don't know how to mod, so... I'm already really grateful to those who DO know how, and whom are willing to spend their time making incredible mods for all of us to use in our games. :)
