This currently replaces the default variants, but it should be possible to include the default variants too. I made this mod to practice with the asset editor, and found out I don't really like editing units' appearances. When I get in the mood to mod again, I may try reworking this to include the default captains

Thanks for this, mate. Avery Empire Captain sporting the same huge beard is a bit boring and feels unrealistic, so this is a nice solution. Do you recon you could just add those as variants to choose from?

@Odd Ball I made this mod to learn how to use the asset editor. I'm not really interested in expanding it. I'd like to mess with the Generals someday, but I haven't been in the mood to mod

Can you please do the same to Empire generals too? I'm kinda disturbed by their beards, and repulsed by their ridiculous hats... And that round bucket they wear as helmets sometimes. It would be very nice to have them is similar face-covering sallet helmets.

@stompie5 OK great to hear, it would be excellent to see since I rly appreciate how this one was implemented for the Empire Captain. the General of the Empire just received some solid buffs with 5.0, and well, I was already going to use him before but now I'm even more motivated to include the unit. I've subscribed to the thread and will check back in the future

@effusivemind I do want to do something like this for the generals eventually. I'm waiting until I have some time off where I can just sit down and focus on doing it. It will probably be awhile.

Would there be a way to make it so the General of the Empire (lord) wears his helmet (fully close) outside of battle, like on the campaign map and in his portrait?

@soulmindproductions I made this mod to learn and toy with the asset editor, since I never really liked the look of vanilla captains. Also, I did look at sneks, but not sure why the models were invisible. I think it has something to do with his mod changing the body model, while I used the vanilla body

Yup, it doesn't crash... so all's fine! But my guys are forever invisible, I think.... I thought maybe I can just Variant select(or) a different variant but they're all empty, unfortunately. I see 5 variants to choose from with VS mod activated. Well, I guess it's time soon for them to die a hero's death so I can replace them with less spooky types ;)

But as you clearly had an interest in more Empire "looks", I don't quite get why you weren't running Snek's mod while working on yours? They seem totally complimentary. Just curious.... <3

I'm also using Snek's Greatsword Captain mod, nr_ "Empire captain w/pistol" and biu-biu's increased mounts for Empire captains/wizsrds (the guy who made the Todbringer mod).

@soulmindproductions Should be fine to enable and disable this mod mid-campaign. I'd have to look at Snek's mod sometime to see if there is a way to work around it

Hey Stompie, is it supposed to be compatible with Snek's Variants?
I believe when manually moved above Snek's in the load order (which should make sense as it's the much smaller mod) then whenever the game chooses one of your variants, users get a blank porthole and an invisible lord on the campaign map (even the flag is invisible which is quite unpractical. The flag and lord name appears when you're garrisonning a settlement though.)

I've moved it to the bottom of my load order now to see what happens.
Can this be removed mid-campaign? BTW. I'm using the original mod by Snek right now, not the reupload by Xoudad (called xou_sneks.....)
