This is a super cool mod! I sort of wish that instead of "tattered papers", the stories would appear on the various notes/paperwork/post-its/etc that you find throughout the world. I don't know if that's possible, but I feel that it would really improve it. It could even be silly things that don't relate to the apocalypse but were written before it (eg. grocery lists, postcards, receipts, etc.). That's just a thought, though.

Hi, I love this mod, thank you for putting in the time on this! Is it possible to use the mod without the Location Identifier Framework? I notice that in areas with a lot of interior cells like Crossroads Mall and Rosewood Prison, there's a stuttering issue that kicks in since downloading the Framework that didn't exist before.

Alrighty, I updated all my submissions to add locations to those that I felt needed them. Curious about the Doe Valley coordinates, though - 300x300 seems like a very small area, and I figured Doe Valley encompassed a fairly large swath of the western map given the landmarks named after it. Plus, the real-world town of Doe Valley is roughly where Riverside is, though it's better represented in-game by the West Maple Country Club. If the LIF coordinates are set in stone, I'll probably need to change a few of my submissions to compensate, but that's no issue.

It's no worries at all, I personally have no issues with it. I just wanted to avoid stories which may at the slightest make other people feel uncomfortable, and stories that don't contribute to the overall mod's goal of feeling people feel more immersed in PZ's world

Older stories didn't have their locations updated. They're treated as "global" stories which may spawn anywhere. If you'd like, you can supply locations for such stories.

Aw, sorry that a few of my goofier submissions didn't make the cut, but I fully understand. They were intended to just be a bit of levity, and, yes, a couple references outside the Zomboid box, hah. And, gosh, I didn't intend for "Malformed Musical Memory" to come off as racist in itself - it's a dumb reference to an actual less-than-pleasant old song, "Chow Mein" by The Gaylords. Sorry to parrot it!

Anyway, thanks for the update! It's nice to finally have that direct control over where scraps spawn. Did you go back through the older submissions to determine if any of those needed location specifications? I can supply such details for my submissions, if needed.

Hello! Yes, it'll be required in B41 as well. The update makes it possible to customize notes spawning locations, making it possible to tailor notes to specific towns, etc

Unfortunately there's no system in place yet that works with making the dates dynamic. This would definitely be considered for later updates though.

Heyo, I'm just curious about something. Some entries in here have dates on them. For example, entry 39, or "A Ranger's Duty" goes all the way to December of '93.
Does the mod have a system to make sure these entries don't spawn too early? Sorry if this has been answered before. Just curious as it'd be a little odd to find one of those by chance too early.

Oh wow, thanks. I have to admit I wasn't expecting you to just up and implement it into the mod itself. I was actually more-so asking you if I could remove them myself through the mod files.
Not that I am complaining, I'm just impressed. Thanks so much! I'm installing this right now.
Good timing, too, as my character just died. Can now slot this right in for my next play-through.

@Arendameth, firstly, thank you for all the mods you provide the community of PZ, awesome work, some of them are must haves for me.

Second, i just reported two bugs, in you bug thread discussion, happening with the lastest build(42.7), i thought this had been fixed in February, but i was mistaken.

Is there anyway, at all, to disable certain stories? I've been eyeing this mod for some time now but - and I'll be honest - I'm picky. I have it subscribed and I've read through the possible notes and there's a selection I'd rather weren't there.
Is there some way I could prevent the mod from selecting certain notes? I'm on build 41.
If you could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate that. Thanks :spiffo:

The item definitely spawns. Though its not very common. Maybe you just haven't come across it yet?

I have no issues with translation, but I am not sure if authors of the story would like the names of characters in the story to be Turkish. That aside, the game takes place in Knox County. It might take away from the immersion if everyone in the stories becomes Turkish, so I'd highly suggest against that

Hey buddy -- I was looking at the debug log after a session and I saw a stack trace related to this mod. I made a PasteBin [pastebin.com] with the info. I have the full log saved, but it was too large for PasteBin. Let me know if you want it and I'll find another way.

I could, but honestly I like keeping them written by real people. AI, at the end of the day, has that one specific style of writing that won't make it really that much unique between one and the other

Possibly a dumb question, but are there actual gameplay changes based on the notes?
Like for example I found one about poisoned food and one about a guy waiting at a location, are these purely for flavor or does that house /actually/ have a can of poisoned food / a (presumably dead) survivor at that location?

That'd be my bad. I upped the spawn rate for testing and forgot to put them back down before pushing the update. Will push a hotfix shortly to fix that

I found a note in a house with a zombie barricaded inside the bathroom, with a corpse outside it, and it was the group note between Nat, Jim and Charlie, and that really just added SO much to finding that house

Great to hear, I love this mod as a concept and it was a shame I couldn't experience that much of it.
