@Max, Oh true, I'm dumb, but yeah more mushrooms than pigs, might change it later though when I get around to updating stuff ofc

Well, furs are a luxury too. But I see your point about the truffles, it's more the mushrooms than the pigs. I was going by the improvement type

@Max, True, I had initially set it with just deers and furs because truffles, while having pigs as the icon and utilizing pigs, aren't an animal resource (truffles are like a mushroom or something) and I was trying to just have it be animal resources though I guess that's not stated anywhere. So something I could definitely change, though it's also possible as a free luxury that would add on too much to the OP-ness. I'll have to consider it along with other balance issues mentioned if I get around to properly updating my mods this winter

I notice the functoin for Tawis only includes deer and furs. I think truffles can also spawn in forest? Might be interesting to include them for flavor (pun intended) lol

@Moll Dubh, if you want the ai to use the ability less often then you can go into the lua file and make the random chance very small, not sure if that would be the best solution exactly but its a pretty easy one for your purposes

@Moll Dubh, For the Tawis ai there's basically just a function that says "if the conditions for using the ability are met (resourceless forest tile in your territory), then roll a die to potentially use the ability"

how the ai makes use of the tawis? The mods I use makes the ai spawn lots of military units, so i'm concerned about the ai filling every forest tile avaliable with resources... either way, sounds an op ability for a, early cheap unit

@Kanin Glad you enjoyed playing! Yeah I've been thinking it's probably OP (but hella fun), thinking I might tweak it a bit if I get around to updating my civs, though my main change would just be removing the +1 happiness from the resources so that there's a lot more having to deal with getting lots of cities and resources vs keeping happiness up. Maybe dropping a culture on the shellmounds so its not as much but Idk. Tis a thought for later me

Had a very fun playthrough, but I must say the civ is very OP. +1 happines and 2 culture in all your cities is just that borderline OP even without spawning animal rescources and the shellmound is probably the best tile improvement in the game. The tawis archers ability is super game breaking - I played diety on a standard pangea map. I went wide settling 11 cities before turn 100 and delayed composite archers for an INSANE time in order to cover my 54 forests with Tawis archers before they went obsolete.Traded all that fur for gold to buy all those forest tiles as soon as possible. I then swarmed egypt and the aztecs with tawnis archers and composites forming a solid and easily defended 16 city empire which I sat on for the rest of the game. My only regret is not building 15 more tawnis archers for egypts forest tiles..

BUT I can highly recommend this mod as I had a lot of fun micromanaging all that city placement and improvements and the alternate play style was fun to try out!

@bungholio Some things to check: Is it a forest territory in your lands? Have you used the ability already for that specific unit (should have a silver triangle promotion that says its been used)? Is there already a resource on that tile (can use IGE to check)? The ability button only shows up when the requirements are met which is a bit annoying but I did do a lot of testing to make sure it works right so do let me know if you get more info on that so that I may look into it further if its an issue

I love the Civ but there might be a bug with the Tawis Archer, I cant get it to spawn a resource on a forest tile
