I made myself only a drone on the submarine, under the lower diver exit, as it doesn't need much space and fits there, doesn't interfere with the left small turret and is far enough away from the right big one, drone control left of the captain navigation terminal.

I use a mod anyway so I can see ore as the mod also shows the plants, before the mod I didn't even know there were plants as the ore sonar upgrade doesn't see plants either.
And it doesn't make sense that attack submarines can't see ore, they need the material for ammunition, and everything else for money for material for ammunition.
