@HolyEros Yes easy beans, it is a basic idle animation from one of the mammalian species, tweeked by someone called Legion if I m right. And you basically just have to align your portraits int he heigh of the ones in my mod, and then but the folder sl_shared and the line in the other scripts in the right place and then you portraits will have this idle animation.

@HolyEros check for the sl_shared file in gfx/models/portraits and then how this is implentend in the gfx/portraits/portraits script

@h.j.haller nah the legion mod got tagged and removed from visibility when searching for it because some of legions portraits are in the grey zone. Wanna keep my mods clean

the male leader are using female portrait, but pop show both gender fine, was it for purpose to have leader all female?

Was more easier to do in the script. Maybe can change that, but they all supposed to be Humanoid except the aquatic ones and robots.

For Stellar Legions can see what I can do, have the files laying around somewhere. Idk why he took it down so

Any chance you'll share the full view of the suggested empires (similar to how you do on the Some Cool Rooms mod page)? It'd be easier than releasing/adding the prescripted empires and would allow folks to see the full flavor of the suggested empires. Either way, great mods! Use most of them in most of my playthroughs!

@Siollear both probably, but as with the latest updates by stellaris devs, somehow the modded portraits are always a bit bugged and wont spawn always

@Beast-Storm Sorry can't figure it out. Maybe you can do a downgraded version yourself. 3.6. is so long ago, idk if it was before or after the hair selector stuff upgrade

I play a downgraded version of Stellaris at 3.6.1

When this mod was updated I don't see your species, they don't exist in my civilization species list save for a few civilization I created that still display them but I can't play them

Is it possible to create a completely separate mod to upload on Steam for a downgraded version, you don't have to update it continuously it can be a legacy version for 3.6.1 that'll remain unchanged?

I really enjoy this mod and love the creativity you put into it @Hann3o but now... i already miss them :(

Its too bad the pre-scripted empires weren't included, I'm too lazy to remake them... Also, I try not to mess with files because i don't know how. But, when I saw the cowboy portraits, I had to have this mod.

@Typical Lama @Crimson ReapeR Mod is Updated and now random generations aswell as custom empires work again flawlessly again (at least in my tests). All species are now moved to Humanoid / Machine Groups from the Vanilla game.

I found and saved this, from a comment in another portrait mod, in case I needed it myself for the future:

The latest update seems to have made each individual portrait a subset. If you (or the mod owner) is experiencing this, I fixed it by changing the file monstergirl_portrait_sets.txt to use the previously defined portrait groups, instead of manually listing each portrait. Like below:

Angel = {
species_class = Angel

portraits = {
Angel
}

# No conditional portraits specified
}

@Yes the portrait_set and categories thing worked. But whatever I change in the code lines. Species names dont work. They somehow changed them in a way like namelists. But no documentation on that.

This seems to be the word around:
"The way Stellaris handles portraits and groups for selection in the menus changed, so the mod won't work for anybody playing 3.12 and up....
... the vanilla files you'll want to refer to for the changes are in new folders called portrait_sets and portrait_categories".

Thank you for this discussion, very informative. Hoping to see you finding out how species names are handled in 3.12. I've seen at least other mod affected by this or similar issue... Can't remember the names now, but seems to be a pain for other established mods.
