@Boris many weapons were invented before adoption. In an operation unthinkable senario the war would take at the minimum 2-3 years, so weapons like the ak-47 would be invented before the end and probably adopted faster to get an edge in the war.

i don't think sks and rpd were used in ww2 with sks being adopted in 1949 and rpd was adopted after germany's surrender

but I can say for sure that the Fedorov Assault Rifle was thrown into the trash in 1940 due to the lack of ammunition for it

@Faceless Moron The Americans and the British wanted to use German prisoners of war, but I doubt that the Soviets used German weapons

in may 1945 Germany surrender and the conflict in Europe ended and the Operation Unthinkable was gonna start on July 1st 1945 but never did
