I understand why it's at the top, I just think that if people read the description, they'd get to the bottom, and you're protected just by having it in here at all. As they say "ignorance of the law is no excuse" and therefore, they can't actually feign ignorance just because they pull a TL;DR bunch of bs. Well, they can, but it won't help them. But I understand putting it at the top to avoid having to go through all the bs them attempting to entails. You guys have my support. Keep doing great mods, we all enjoy them. Fly safe.
The reason they have these disclaimers is because of ignant shits that think it's okay to steal another's work, which it's not. Those same shits are plagiarizing another's work and violating Intellectual Properties law when they do so. It's illegal, and these artists actually have according to that law, some amount of obligation to protect their work by placing such disclaimers.
Only thing I'd ask is put it at the bottom, instead of disrupting their in-fiction or other descriptors by putting it at the top. But that's a personal preference, and by no-means indicates they need to not place it, when in fact, due to previous occurrances of IP theft, it is advisable they do so.
What if someone took your work, and published it as their own? With no mention of you in any way, shape or form? That little rant makes you look like a whiny little prick who gets "offended" if somebody so much as sneezes within range of your hearing. If you don't like it, pull your foot out of your mouth, and the stick from your ass, and bite your tongue, and ignore it. It would make the world a better place.
You're missing the point. This is his original work, he deserves every right to maintain ownership of whatever he creates. You may feel flattered by plagiarism, but I, as well as he, are not. Someone plagiarized my own work (an Arma 2 mission) and gave absolutely no credit to me what so ever. Hell, all the code that I wrote for that mission still has my name in the doc headers as the author. Do I feel flattered by that? Hell no. I feel disrespected.
Needs lots more detail. Chamfer some edges here, indentations and ridges there
