@Puzzle Solver The only person who needs to be reported here is you. Quit being a child. Modding isn't always easy, and there aren't going to be people doing the work for you every step of the way - If you don't like it or are too stupid to install a simple file, then you have no business modding this game. Its not the mod author's fault that you are incompetent and entitled.

He is not required to make this work without GCFScape. I suggest using another background mod if you are that offended.

Now place 5 copies of the "l4d2_background01" you extracted from the vpk into the media folder. Keep one of the "l4d2_background01"s named that, and change 4 of them to 02, 03, 04, 05 etc. You're done!

*CLEAR ENGLISH INSTRUCTIONS*

Subscribe to the mod, then run the game. Wait for the mod to download and sync, then exit. Now go to Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\addons and find the mod's vpk. The vpk will have the same name/number as it's picture, which is the same picture on the workshop. Once you've found it, this is where the GCFScape comes into play. Download GCFScape. Now right click the vpk and select "Open with". Locate GCFScape (it may not be on the list and you'll have to search for it manually, there will be an option there somewhere) and open the vpk with it. Once you have, extract l4d2_background01 somewhere. Keep that copy nice and toasty. Now head over to Steam\SteamApps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\media and make a backup of "l4d2_background01", "l4d2_background02", "l4d2_background03", "l4d2_background04", and "l4d2_background05". Put them somewhere else on your computer. (cont.)

To install the background you need the GCFScape:

When you've already subscribed you have to open the game, when you open and close your addons load the game and go to the workshop folder is in:
Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Left 4 Dead 2 \ left4dead2 \ addons
When you're looking at the addon folder (look for it in the image will be easier) and into keychain instructions on how to install the background.
