Hmm, possibly not. Sorry.
You can always have your friend change ownership of thier ship to you whilst using the beam.

The module was really only designed for use in the Factory Fleet. It just happens to work standalone as well and I wanted to keep the "new equipment" and "new ship designs" mods split.

Is there any way to use this in coop? There doesn't seem to be a way to target an allies ship

Great idea. I do wish to ask that if you can make a solo ship version. Maybe reduced efficiency. None the less, thank you for the mod. Great.

Should work in 0.23.2.
Admittedly I haven't tested that yet, because I'm working on something else. But in most cases when the game updates (as it's still in early-access active development) it's easier to just re-enable your mods and see if any break.

Can the most recent version be used to play this mod? if not, which version is recommended for using this mod?

Well.. whilst this was designed for the our Chained Factory Fleet ... there's nothing stopping you from using this on your "brick factory" too ... 1 module on that .... 1 small ship consisting of Cockpit, Reactor, CrewBunk, Module ....

Could possibly do some docking/locking shenanigans to make them always face each other ...
and thus you've overcome the 1per ship rule, and the 'requires beam from another ship to power/activate'

.... I mean that is way OP and past the design scope ...
.. but you can do what you want ;)

i like the idea but flying around a fleet of 5+ means i gotta scroll and if i jump something it getts moved to the back of the list.

im not to particular on having to pay to get that bonus tho if theres a reblanece or standalone thats around think thatd be more for me
