I'd love to update these models, some are in progress by Sparky Fox (the developer of Azimuth Remastered). I don't know how far he's gotten on them.

I'm sorry. It was connector who started sucking Arc Fuel from my reactor for some unknown reason. Everything is ok now.

Maybe Keen added something to control the amount of fuel burned in an update. I'll check later today.

They should be running on arc fuel and they burn fuel according to the load on them. :)

They should burn the same amount of fuel as the other ones. :)

Just built x5 version and it eating fuel so fast that I don't know how much uranium i need to run it! Is this a bug or balancing feature? X1 version is ok.

are you sure that the turrets also draw full power while idle? i already encountered mods where the weapons in it had different power draw depending on idle or active.

yeah. and if 1 turret needs 8GW and 4 ar mounted on the ship is the needet power atleast 32GW and i am not putting thrusters or my TW batterys into that or any other system on the ship.... so yeah.

They will only output as much as they need to put out. :)

ok now i know for sure the reactors have a problem. i have automated beam drill turret and they need per turret and depending on ranke they work in between 2GW an 8GW. and i got 4 of them on my ship. so the x50 should put out like 24 up to 30GW from his possible 50GW. but he is fixed on 6GW

The output values might need to be redone, I noticed this yesterday when I was moving the x100 to its own mod page.

I will get to redoing all of them next week.

@AceTakora that cant be. i have 3x 100TW batterys wiht a max take in of 10GW so why ar there not 30GW output + the ship-needing? and they ar almost emty.

as far as i can tell most high energy output reactors out there are fare cheaper per gw of power than these.

Additionally, AFAIK the fuel consumption rate scales with energy output.

@Imperial Omega Any sort of power block will only put out whats "needed" at the time, 50gw is the MAX it can put out at one time but obviously your base is only needing 2.9gw right now

I can look into why they're are broken with the fuel, but Keen did quite some bad bugs in this update that they most likely snuck in the day before they released it, if not the same day.

you should be able to build it in an assembler with uranium and magnesium, its called arc fuel

a basic assemble is not able to produce it as far as my knowledge goes.

@SEModder4 are the recipes for 2x and higher intended not to have a linear cost curve? For example, the 6x costs fewer computers than the 5x.

I have thought of a 1x1, but the huge downside is they were really designed to be that size.

I love these and have been using them for a long time. Gone is the mess of reactors and the orgy of Uranium consumption. I like them alot! Thank you.
(A 1x1 would be super useful on very small ships)

you need 1 uranium and 1 magnesium to make 10 arc fuel while 1 arc fuel burns in the same time as 1 uranium (fuel usage for reactors is hardcoded by keen as far as i know).
all arc reactor sizes burn the same amount off uel i nthe same time, so the stock arc reactor is mroe efficient than the vanilla large reactor at the same power output. the x2 would then be more efficient than the stock with double the power output.

+1 for 1x1 large grid small reactor.Got over 1k hours in this game and using this mod in each campaign.All I can wish for is small reactor :steamthumbsup:

Just to throw another point of view into the scale pan:
jay-krustov, you've said that the amount of energy should not exceed x6 to prevent competition with their big brothers. Even with small reactors x100 the big ones are out of sight regarding their power output because their common base is the output of vanilla reactors which represents the factorization. Small reactor's output is always reduced compared with big ones (300 & 15 MW large, 14.75 & 0.5 small). So it would need at least a small reactor x20 for large & x30 for small ships to reach even the vanilla stats. I think that's OK having in mind that ARC reactors start from x2 regarding power output against vanilla what doubles the factors to x40 (large) & x60 (small).

Mirroring the factors from the big ones to the small ones would allow incredible compact, high-powered and lightweight ships. Another option, if there're factions finding this over-powered: make the maxium factor(s) configurable.

I do have plans for a new model that is being made by Sparky Fix and will be up to date with Keen's skin system and current models.

I'll try and see if he can make a 1x1 version as well.

Hi, i read some of the latest comments and saw that there will be an overhaul. So maybe thats the right time to give a suggestion / request here.

Since more and more small reactor mods i use beside of the Arc Reactor got abandoned, not working anymore or prevent the functionality of the Arc Reactor (removing uranium), it would be awesome to have Arc Reactors in size of 1x1 block for large and small grid with two conveyor accessports in them (like straight conveyor tube) for very small builds where normal Arc Reactors don´t fit.

I think variants from x1 till x6 would be good so the small version dont counter the big brothers but provide enough energy to spare weight for bunch of batteries.

I hope you consider that because it would be great to have reactors that deliver energy to very big as well for very small / compact builds in one mod. I use this mod nearly since day one and so far it not letting me down. So thumbs up and keep up the good work!
