I fixed this by creating my own ammunition types from the simple ammunition mode. Copied the defs and made my own + some pictures.

I know you expressed disinterest in proper support, but would you consider adding a super rudimentary compatibility with the advanced ammo pack?

Just something like all vehicles using the same higher tiered type of ammo, without getting into the details and calibers. Cheers.

Does this mod only work with one kind of mortar shell as ammunition? I can't get it to change to the other types.

so what if I ONLY want to load my actual tanks with mortar ammo but don't want ALL my guns to need ammo? will this mod work without the LTS ammo? or is there a chance of LTS becoming an optional dependency?

Does it have to be high-explosive mortar shells or does any shell work? Some times you got to EMP them and why do it with mortal, if a tank works?

@NeveHanter I don't play with advanced ammo so I'm not interested in this, but if you wanna that, you can took my patch files and rewride them

@U-boat[BY] I've already tried to make patches for some other rimthunder mods (Flashpoint and Red Cavalry, you can even find them in mod folders), but they not working properly for some reason and I'm too lazy and dumb to deal with them, sorry

@Osetrokarasek maybe you could try swapping the ammunition type that is loaded into tanks from artillery shells to the explosive ammo from the LTS mod series? If the bug is somehow related to the fact that it's a shell it might allow you to sidestep the issue

@Gatoradeburn Oh, I checked my mod again and found out that it really affects gameplay by allowing to shoot through walls, but still idk how to fix it

@Gatoradeburn I think some updates of Vehicle Framework or VVE - Tier 3 might be the reason of the bug. As I said it's only a visual bug that doesn't affect gameplay, but maybe I'll give a try to rewrite patches so they'll work properly with newer versions of these mods

@Gatoradeburn I just checked it in-game and as you said "bulletlike" projectiles really turning into shells for some reason. Honestly, I don't know how do I fix that, since my patches only affects ammo type and ammo count per charge, not the projectiles itself. Fortunately it's just a visual bug and it's not affecting the projectile speed.

I disabled every mod except for this one and its dependencies and started a new game. what I have found is that any vehicle set to load with mortar shells will have its projectile changed to that of a mortar.

That's what I figured but I disabled everything I could think of that might have an effect and the situation did not change. I will go through more thoroughly end see if I can figure out what the
couse is.

@Gatoradeburn honestly idk, I don't remember changing the "Udar" mortar, because it's already loaded with different shells and it doesn't need my patches. Maybe you using other mods that change the projectile?

I am using this mod in conjunction with vanilla vehicles expanded tier 3 and I've found that when I have tanks that are loaded with mortar shells fire their main gun the projectile is a mortar projectile rather than the original projectile from the mod. Is there any way to correct this or is this an intended behavior?

Hey; for some reason for the Red Cavalry vehicles the patch only applies for the main guns, at least for the ZTS63. The main cannon uses shells, but the secondary coaxial machinegun uses steel.

It appears none of the vehicles in VVE will use this ammunition. They are all using steel for me.

It appears that vehicles from Vanilla vehicles expanded no longer use the ammo and use steel again. Tier 3 vehicles are still working though.

looks like it allows only HE rounds to be loaded. Is it possible to add other shell types? Would be cool if VFE: Dereters3 new shell types are compatible with vehicles
