Can 2nd knight with the errors. Getting a ton of errors when I reform ideology to this. When i reform ideology away from this meme, the errors go away.
Knight 13 Jun, 2024 @ 5:14am
Suddenly started getting errors being thrown out at me for all my colonists;

Great to hear !
Thanks for your feedback
1kili2 23 Apr, 2024 @ 8:44pm
it's taken me a while to get to the poitn where i could reform my religion again, just did and gonna try it out now, but so far no issues (at least non related to this mod xD)
1kili2 19 Apr, 2024 @ 6:38pm
awesome thank you! ill let you know if i encounter anything!
SFLegion  [author] 19 Apr, 2024 @ 8:33am
Updated to 1.5 ! Tell me if you encounter something strange
1kili2 18 Apr, 2024 @ 6:22pm
no rush i was just curious, ive been glued to the game since anomaly and only discovered like half the entities cause randy wont stop being randy, so i was potentially hoping to bolster my colony by extracting some archites from a couple imprisoned sanguophages i have
SFLegion  [author] 18 Apr, 2024 @ 4:49pm
I just finish my anomaly playthrough
So yeah there is a chance in the near futur that I look at it to update it
No promise for a precise date however
1kili2 18 Apr, 2024 @ 2:37pm
any chance youll be updating this? i cnat seem to find any other mod that allows you to extract archite genes
SFLegion  [author] 20 Nov, 2023 @ 11:37am
Hello,
I'm using the same performance as you and I don't have thoses messages
Do you have the mood buff when you mapped the genes ?
Can you try with a minimal modlist ?
Sanctus Nix 20 Nov, 2023 @ 11:06am
The genomics ideology is causing the message "List empty" to be spammed in my debug log in white. Also none of my colonists have the mood debuff of genome not sequenced. Error only occures when ideology is active on atleast 1 of my pawns. The error gets logged 4 at a time, with a wait time of 10 seconds between each burst of 4. Performance mods I have on that could possibly cause this by cashing stuff are:
Rocket man
dubs performance analyser
performance optimizer
performance fish

Its ok, thx for answering back on it :)
SFLegion  [author] 6 Nov, 2023 @ 5:18am
Hello kongkim,

I'm moving to a new home right now
I did see your message but I will not have time to look into it in the near future

Have a good day
kongkim 4 Nov, 2023 @ 3:50am
If i use this meme together with the Anonymity mene from Vanilla Ideology Expanded - Memes and Structures mod i get this error in the menu and can do anything from there.

Hum you right when I tested the mod i've always used the generipper :
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2885485814&searchtext=ripper
I didn't know that you cannot extract skin and haircolor though vanilla gene extractor
I might add an option to ignore skin and hair color for gene mapping but not before this weekend
The Blind One 23 Aug, 2023 @ 9:37am
Skin and hair color genes have;

<canGenerateInGeneSet>false</canGenerateInGeneSet>

tag and so will not spawn unless set to true, afaik
HeinrichK 23 Aug, 2023 @ 9:34am
otherwise great mod (i noticed i sounded way to harsh sorry <3 )
HeinrichK 23 Aug, 2023 @ 9:32am
yes, https://rimworldwiki.com/wiki/Version/1.4.3541

"Don't allow pawns in the gene extractor if they only have a melanin gene."
The Blind One 23 Aug, 2023 @ 9:32am
@SFLegion HenrichK is correct, you need a mod to enable genes like skin and haircolor to show up as extractable genes. They were taken out quite a long time ago actually.
SFLegion  [author] 23 Aug, 2023 @ 6:30am
Are you sure ? I didn't see any Rimworld update lately and since last week it was still possible
HeinrichK 23 Aug, 2023 @ 6:14am
its no longer possible to extract skin and haircolor from baseliner (vanilla).
so baseliner will never get the "my gens are mapped" mood buff.
The Blind One 22 Aug, 2023 @ 12:17pm
Aye we now conform to the sanctity of the english language. Hurray! :steamhappy:
SFLegion  [author] 22 Aug, 2023 @ 11:24am
This should be better
SFLegion  [author] 22 Aug, 2023 @ 5:53am
Oh my god you right I misspelled it x)
As you might have guest English is not my native language
I will change that this evening !
The Blind One 22 Aug, 2023 @ 4:24am
@SFLegion oh yeah, that's how I interpreted it too, but we all have our own imaginations and expectations. I thought that this meme or mod would allow us to 'synthesise' genes that could actually help do that whole 'evolution' and 'potential' part. That didn't turn out to be the case either. :steamsad:

I uhhh just found out that genomist isn't a commonly accepted word. The correct word is actually genomicist or geneticist. But I'll lave that for you to decide. :steammocking:
SFLegion  [author] 22 Aug, 2023 @ 2:38am
Yeah but it as to be seen in a more general way
For example if you mapped and inject a gene that increase regeneration rate, or prevent diseases I would argue that you have improved the health of your colonist
The Blind One 22 Aug, 2023 @ 2:28am
@SFLegion @Fankk Actually Gyger does make a point to a degree. In particular this passage may give that idea; "mapping every gene would enable us to unlock the secrets of evolution, health, and human potential"

You would think that mapping the genome would improve the 'Health' of your pawns. This idea isn't completely out of the blue when you consider that modern geneticists want to use the genetic maps of people to prevent and treat (genetic) diseases / conditions and improve the health of human individuals by understanding the exact requirements and circumstances of each individual.

In that sense, if you have their entire genome mapped out, a tending and immunity bonus increase actually makes sense as you'd know 'exactly' what their genes would favorably respond too for an optimal result.
Brother Tanithos 22 Aug, 2023 @ 2:06am
@Gyger you're definitely the only person who read it that way
SFLegion  [author] 18 Aug, 2023 @ 9:22am
Thats a very specific interpretation :D
Gyger 18 Aug, 2023 @ 8:39am
The way the meme is described sounds like there could be a Biotech specific building that boosts tend quality and immunity gain based on the number of gene(banks) in range.
SFLegion  [author] 18 Aug, 2023 @ 2:11am
That is intended
cass 18 Aug, 2023 @ 1:25am
I don't know if this is intended or not, but lethal blood loss does not kill deathless pawns. You can down a sanguophage, turn off auto-wake, and get two free archite capsules every 10 days.
DieNRetry 16 Aug, 2023 @ 2:42am
Excellent ! Really good for my Pharma-Mercenaries Lab. :BFG2fist:
SFLegion  [author] 15 Aug, 2023 @ 10:51pm
@Renegade
I do not plan to had more content for this mod in the near future
ColeYote 15 Aug, 2023 @ 8:15pm
Alright, cool stuff, keep wanting to have some more science-related memes.
Ren 15 Aug, 2023 @ 1:48pm
Are there plans for the genomist to be able to synthesis genes, sort of like gene forge but a part of the precept? Maybe a precept that gives them a mood buff when they synthesize a new gene
Kokorocodon 14 Aug, 2023 @ 8:14am
whoa whoa buddy, this is cool! I was looking for something of the sort to play the mad scientist
The Blind One 14 Aug, 2023 @ 3:48am
I don't mind extracting genes from pawns, I think that should definitely be the most 'efficient' way to obtain genes but it's precisely because of how many genes there are, you sometimes just want to be able to research them with a dedicated 'genomist' or something. Sure I might extract like 10 genes compared to the one hand tailored one but that's a sacrifice i'm willing to make.

I see it more as a very late game thing you do that is essentially a time sink for your researchers when the tech tree is basically finished and they have nothing to do anymore. At some point you have all the deep resources you need from the ground penetrating scanner and all research is done, your poor researchers don't really have anything to do anymore. Some gene tailoring or gene researching would be perfect, there's hundreds of genes and being able to target a few specific ones would be great even if it costs a shit tonne of pawn labor time. You have the spare researchers at that point.
SFLegion  [author] 14 Aug, 2023 @ 3:16am
I see what you mean, originally, I planned to add a way to find every gene in the gene but I did find any good way to do it. Personally, I like the fact that you should find pawn that have specific genes in order to extract them, it feels natural and you will have to construct prison a gene extraction lab to make it happen which is something I like. The issue is that you will never obtain genes that are not present in any xenotype loaded in your world. Currently I use the Wretch random mutation from “Alpha Genes” to farm them but I’m pretty sure that this gene is bugged and somes genes never spawn.

My point is that if you have a good idea that make genes obtention easier I might implement it at the best of my ability even if this is in a separate mod but this has to be more engaging that just research
The Blind One 14 Aug, 2023 @ 1:25am
Yeah I'm aware of the Geneforge mod, I was just really crossing my fingers that a 'genomist' was able to synthesize their own genepacks as research projects or something considering their life's work revolves around mapping and 'possibly' creating genes.

I initially thought the meme concept of 'Genomist' would fall under transhumanist but now that I think about it; Transhumanism is all about transcending into a machine. In contrast maybe a meme around genetic superiority would be cool. Creating the ultimate biological ubermensch seems like a pretty legit rimworld meme lol. So rather than 'From the Moment I Understood the Weakness of My Genetics, I set out to perfect my code' or something lol
SFLegion  [author] 13 Aug, 2023 @ 11:36pm
Thanks for the feedback
This mod do not plan to do that
But some other mods allow you to create random genepacks like this one :

The Blind One 13 Aug, 2023 @ 7:20pm
Cool idea,

One thing I'd still like to see in biotech is the ability to 'research' genes. Rather than being forced to extract them from pawns or buy them from traders, it'd be nice if you could have your pawn genetically engineer the genes themselves that are available in the game sort of like research projects. This way you could target the specific genes you'd want. Of course these would be very long-term research projects and require a tonne of pawn labor but it would be a cool idea I think.
Tcgirl8 13 Aug, 2023 @ 1:22pm
love the idea
