@Lord: You can craft the Camera Monitor Wiring Diagram and equip it so see how to wire the monitor so it can cycle trough channels. It can probably be improved by now since the devs added more components, but I haven't gotten around to redo the wiring.
The absolute simplest setup is just hooking a memory component to the monitor channel input and configuring the value in the memory component to the desired wifi channel of the camera.

Hey, I really like your mod pack and this one in particularly, I tried to understand how barotrauma works myself because I love the game but I was wondering if you could make it so the helmets did not hide hair (hidewearablesoftype="Hair"), a lot of the mods I like use hair and the helmets don't have hair and I want to use this mod more.

If there a way to do that, or maybe add a sub mod that allows hair?

Since there's now a demux component, you could probably make the circuit 2 times smaller. Made it with a relay, demux, wifi components and a xor + delay edge detector

@Cowabunga: It used to work just fine when I released it, but one of the game updates made changes on how the wifi component inside items work and that probably caused it to always set the voice channel to the same as the camera... I haven't figured out a workaround yet so I might have to communicate with the devs to see if they can change wifi components once again to allow this mod to function as intended, while not breaking something else in the game :captainsinful:

@WushuPinkyHold: No idea why the memory component would reset itself constantly. Maybe one of the game updates once again changed how the components are working code-wise and broke it? I'll have to test and see.

@ThatBartGuy: The item has no component that would allow switching it for another item in the code so I'm starting to believe the devs added some hardcoded thing that converts certain items when they introduced their camera items... I'll probably have to file a bug report for that to get fixed by the game devs.

Hello, I'd just like to report I have also encountered the surveilence station turning into a periscope bug in my game. Like the previous commenter I had the station right beside the navigation console and purchased a laser for an empty hardpoint. Upon starting a new round the screen turned into a periscope, not just graphically- it's also functionally one. The sub was the Herja in case this is a sub specific bug.

Yes, the camera monitor literally turns into a periscope, but I'm not sure if it's due to its placement. I put the camera monitor next to the nav terminal, and then when our captain purchases a turret upgrade and loads the next round, the camera monitor turns into a periscope that can't be detached.

@Purpyy: There seems to be some issues with headsets due to the wifi camera using wifi channels while the headset also uses the wifi channel to broadcast audio. Unfortunately I don't know of any solution to the problem. Setting the camera to use the same channel as the headset is one workaround. Perhaps it also starts working if you equip the headset after the camera and/or change your chat channel to something else and then back.

@ButtERR: I've stated many times previously that the simplest way of wiring it up would be to just wire the monitor's position_out to a wifi component and set the wifi component channel to the desired camera's wifi channel.

The diagram shown here allows you to also see which channel is currently selected on the monitor item and cycle through a configured set of channels (for example cycle through 6-14 by clicking)

just watched a video guide from Plasmori. You literally need a wifi component, terminal and the camera monitor. While the craftable scheme tells you to wire up many other components...

@-=Jordan=-, @ButtERR: you can go into the sub-editor, load a submarine and place the "Camera Monitor" assembly on the sub and a wifi camera and test if it works, but if it didn't work when you wired it manually, then you probably missed something during wiring or you just configured the wrong wifi channel for either the monitor or camera.

@Alberich: Potentially, but I'm waiting for the Game Devs to finish their camera update as it may become possible in the base game so I want to wait and see what exactly they are doing.

@アンジェル: There's a pre-saved assembly for plug and play you can find in the submarine editor which you can place in any submarine and save it as a new sub to play with. Just search for "Camera Monitor" in the assembly category :steamthumbsup:

@bebroiskatel: There was a screenshot of how it's wired with all necessary values shown, but seems like steam once again lost the image... I have an ongoing support ticket about pictures randomly disappearing from my workshop pages and they're currently investigating the issue.

But as stated in the description, the same picture is also craftable and equippable ingame to help wire everything up.

@wedge_shape: I'm sorry but I honestly don't know how else to help people with the wiring. I provide a pre-configured assembly in the sub-editor and the possibility to toggle a display of a screenshot for the wiring with all important settings for the components displayed ingame via selecting or deselecting the "Camera Monitor Wiring Diagram" which is craftable at a fabricator.

@Tutabatuta: Yes you can wire a button instead of the monitor trigger_out to the adder component. If you want to be able to also go back by 1 channel you'd have to adjust the circuit quite a bit more, but that would be for everyone to figure the circuit out themselves. The example I provided is a simple upwards counting circuit when clicking that resets at a given number and thus restarting the cycle again.

There has been commits in the game developer's github about implementing a surveillance center and UI overlays so perhaps something similar is coming to the base game. But only time will tell what it will actually be.

Very cool update, I just wanted to say me and my friends downloaded your mod when we first started playing a few weeks ago because we wanted a way for the captain or others to see what was going on in dive missions and your mod is so fun we now treat it as a keeper for even vanilla playthroughs. This is one of the most fun barotrauma mods because it changes the game to get more team members involved and makes it feel like a group adventure even when you are on the ship.

The captain giving you radio communications while you are on a dive really makes the game feel exciting and fun like you are a real sub crewmember. The vanilla game would be better if your mod was included by default and that's the golden stamp of a great mod.

The latest update introduced a wiring diagram you can craft as an ingame item to equip and view to guide you through the wiring process. It is also posted in the screenshots above.

Also new is the wifi surveillance camera which can be installed anywhere on your submarine, even on the outside, but only on beams and fins. It needs to be wired to a power source and a channel configured to function.

I also removed the mod's thumbnail from the mod folder which was bloating the file size.
Steam may have issues removing the file so if you're experiencing issues trying to join a server, please unsubscribe, start the game, quit the game and check if the mod folder (3020618603) is gone from
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Daedalic Entertainment GmbH\Barotrauma\WorkshopMods\Installed
and delete it if it is still present, then resubscribe.
Also make sure to remove and fully reinstall the mod from your server to solve this issue if you're a server host and experiencing this issue.

@Lanx: Yeah I should probably add a wiring diagram, but there is a pre-wired assembly included (that apparently stopped working now for some reason?) which was intended to be used to learn the wiring directly in game.
