Делал работу полчаса - в итоге аддон показал мне кукиш и 6 файлов весом от 0 до 4 байт(
I'll add an option for choosing the color depth of the screenshot soon. It won't be that customizable because there are pre-compiled image formats.

I want that option because I want to spawn 2 cameras at very specific angles, which unfortunately 1 camera is visible (because it is placed in like 45° degrees from the other camera which unfortunately breaks the immersiveness of the screenshot when the other camera is visible) and it feels so tiresome to constantly load a save, manually and carefully posing ragdolls, go back to that very same spot of the other visible camera, equip the High Resolution Camera and constantly delete the other camera that was spawned using the Tool Gun to not break the screenshot's immersion (yes, I want to take screenshots at very timed points or "spots" too).
It would be nice if the potentially named "hide spawned cameras when HRC is equipped" option is checked by default in an upcoming update.
Hello @noacess! Just curious, can you implement an option in the High Resolution Camera settings to "hide" the "camera" that can be spawned with the Tool Gun just like when equipping Gmod's native "Camera"?
I mean when you spawn a camera using the Tool Gun (whose view can be toggled using a hotkey, default is NUMPAD 0), then equip Gmod's native "Camera" (but NOT the "High Resolution Camera"), the "camera" that was spawned using the Tool Gun "disappears" (or "hides") when you equip it and comes back as soon as you unequip Gmod's native camera "weapon", which unfortunately doesn't disappear when you equip the High Resolution Camera.
In this addon, render targets for screenshots have anisotropic filtering; perhaps, this is what causes massive file sizes. In that case, I'll make an option for choosing texture filtering (pointsample, trilinear, anisotropic)
Saving screenshots to Steam library cannot be done through Lua. That's an internal engine thing.
Since the 2 comments that I made 8 days ago, I can now take screenshots in .jpg or .jpeg with no problems just like the .png format, the game must've needed file caching or something to work properly as I recently installed this addon.
However, the massive file size problem is still present and just the same sizes.
Also, a nice feature if you could add is the ability to upload these screenshots to the Steam Workshop, because as you probably already know since you are the author of this mod, the screenshots taken with this mod cannot be uploaded to the Steam Workshop (they can only be uploaded to external sites like Imgur, Discord and stuff, but not on Steam itself even if I try renaming the file names to be just like how Gmod or Steam saves them) unlike the screenshots taken from Gmod itself using the F5 hotkey or using the built-in camera weapon.
When using the custom resolution feature (to give a VHS or Mini DV look to the picture) and using overlays, like a VHS overlay, it squashes the screenshot in the custom resolution.
And, when using normal High Res presets, it's usually the upper left quarter of the image that doesn't get the overlay treatment.
Is there a way to reduce the file size? This is literally the first time ever in my entire life taking a 16K screenshot and I was absolutely shocked to see that a 16K screenshot's file size is 108MB (which is not what actual 16K screenshots would be that massive in sizes) that I can't upload a file with that massive size anywhere, neither Imgur, Reddit, Discord, DeviantArt or anywhere else. And I didn't even touch anything in the mod's settings other than the resolution and file extension settings.
20240813011458_1.jpg is taken in actual 8K without the addon (I can do dynamic 8K using Nvidia DSR and it's just a big headache to switch to 8K all the time just for taking screenshots. The file size is 4.28MB):

And gm_rats_nest_2024-08-13_01.14.46.png is 8K when I was in 1080p but made the mod's camera resolution to be 8K (this one's file size is 34.4MB):
