Alert, I have updated the War Paint with a significant amount of adjustments and fine-tuning, in accordance with feedback, in addition to moving the textures to a new team colored base (Cookie Fortress.)

Also, added a third team colored metal shingle texture to add Red and Blu accents to the weapon overall. Please check it out using this link

for those who are still subscribed to the thread, i would like to give an update that the project has expanded to give a little more than just a tertiary color.

this includes touching up the stone and wood according to feedback, and using the new proposed third texture slot to give subtle and fancy team color accents to the weapons. stay tuned.

oh ok i accidentally touched the top-right pixel of the delete button on one of the comments here and permanently erased it from history, i will hopefully not do that again.

by the way, considering a version 2 of the war paint with a tertiary, muted flat color, should be out by the end of the week, hopefully it will add some extra contrast to the weapon and increase its favorability once i finish it.

absolutely right, the floorboard textures in various maps for example are super different and much more messy, in contrast to the clean mahogany texture from the damascus and mahogany war paint, but they still each work really well for their respective purposes. its nice that war paint creators have at least a bit of wiggle room to get the wood right and feel nice to look at.

Wood in TF2 is super inconsistent. Sometimes it's semi realistic, sometimes it's cartoony.

i had the most trouble with the wood texture actually, the stone texture was somehow easier to complete. i was focused on trying to replicate tf2's artstyle with the wood texture, but there were no guides online so i had to make it using my own knowledge.

i decided to give it a 'stripe' overlay so it did not look like a flat brown color, and still looked interesting when contrasted with the stone tiles. it makes sense why someone would not like it though since i am inexperienced with building textures from scratch anyway.

the wood texture doesnt look that good but the warpaint is still really good

btw skins that don't use plank and tile patterns suffer the same issue as skins that do use them.

fair enough, thanks for the review. i am disappointed to learn that this war paint isnt going anywhere but i should have seen that coming tbh

Tile and plank patterns really just do not look good on warpaints, and basing the whole idea off of tiles really shows that with how they get cut off and chopped up all over the warpaint.

Give me feedback and suggestions so that I may improve this war paint in the future and become a better item creator.

This is my first true war paint submission; I had other attempts, but they soon became discarded after I realised they would not go anywhere. Even if the Tower Tiled pattern is simple, I am still proud of my work.
