You can use Project Zomboid Debug mode to remove any trait from your character.
Aviator Zgr 27 Jul @ 6:58am
Is there a way to remove this trait from a character without removing the mod?

H O R U S ! ! ! ! !
GigaChadd 28 Feb @ 1:01am
Oh yaaaay! I was a bit confused about if they were mutually exclusive, good to know! Thank you thank you :steamhappy:
・・  [author] 27 Feb @ 9:17am
@GigaChadd
When creating a character, you can't pick both Bloodlust and Fear of Blood.

But you can still earn Bloodlust even with Fear of Blood.
Fear of Blood won't be removed, making this trait combination possible only by earning Bloodlust :sadistpolite:
GigaChadd 25 Feb @ 6:28pm
so just wondering, if you have the fear of blood trait, and have this mod enabled, can you still earn the bloodlust trait through killing the zombies? Or does having the fear of blood trait prohibit the bloodlust from being earned?
Eizen 30 Dec, 2024 @ 6:58pm
nice! thanks man

Here it is, have fun with Build 42!
Eizen 29 Dec, 2024 @ 9:43am
please update to b42
CONTRAmage888 16 Sep, 2024 @ 8:24am
ah ok now i get it thank you for explaining it a bit more :steamthumbsup: yeah ill definitely be using this instead of berserk even though how helpful that was, i wished chuckleberry fin would make it as a pickable trait but he has no plans atm to continue on working on the mod.

@CONTRAmage888
It's not like Big Bad Beaver's Berserk . This is a character trait like other in-game traits. You can dynamically get it if you kill a few hundreds while your character is fully bloody (See "Earning The Trait" in description)
You can also activate one of the submods to allow the trait to be picked in traits menu before you get in game. (See "Adding Trait when Creating a Character" in description)

I've updated the description and bullet points to be less confusing.
CONTRAmage888 14 Sep, 2024 @ 3:53pm
so is this like bigbadbeavers berserk mod where the trait exists ingame and not an optional one we can select in the triats menu before we get ingame? also what else does it exactly do? would i get a damage buff to whatever melee im using on the side as well or will it basically only knockout like you said addiction to smoking or being tired too quickly? i read the bullet points you made a couple of times and i dont get it.

@Wattson
> i spawned in 300 zombies and killed them. So afterwards i should have the trait right and then the next time im covered in blood it'll activate?

No, only kills that you perform while being fully covered in blood count.
You'll see text like "HELL YEAH!" when the Bloodlust trait is added.

If you want the kills to be counted regardless of how covered in blood you are, set "Bloodiness Threshold" sandbox setting to 0.
The required amount of kills can be set via "Kills Threshold" sandbox setting.
All sandbox settings have detailed in-game tooltips explaining what they do.

Anyway, is the workshop description misleading or haven't you read it?
Your two last comments are answered in the description.
Read "Balancing" and "Earning The Trait" sections.

@Wattson
> the submods aren't activating

You are probably trying to activate it on existing save?
To add any mod to existing save, you need to do it on the save itself.
See "Changing mods in an existing world" on the PZwiki:
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Using_mods
Medicwattson 13 May, 2024 @ 8:26pm
ah i see, the submods aren't activating. Also when i was testing out the mod i spawned in 300 zombies and killed them. So afterwards i should have the trait right and then the next time im covered in blood it'll activate? I could of just overlooked the details if so my apologizes.
Wehrenslave 11 May, 2024 @ 3:36pm
You have to be a not mentally stable person Mr. Author.

@Wattson
What exactly didn't work and how you expect it to work?
What submods (Besides main BloodlustTrait) do you have enabled?

I just tested it, the mod works.

Maybe the issue is that you don't have the Bloodlust trait on your character.
The mod is only activated once you have this trait.

By default, the Bloodlust trait cannot be added during character creation; It can only be earned by killing a specified amount of zombies in a short period of time while being fully covered in blood .

If you want to add the trait while creating your character, you'll need to also enable one of the submods, such as BloodlustTrait4Points, for example. With these submods, you can choose the cost of the trait during character creation.
Medicwattson 7 May, 2024 @ 10:03pm
After some tinkering i couldn't get bloodlust to work even on its own. Could be an issue on my side or maybe one of the updates broke your mod.
Medicwattson 4 May, 2024 @ 10:58pm
ok thank you.
・・  [author] 26 Apr, 2024 @ 12:28am
@Wattson
That's awesome, thank you very much!

There were no Project Zomboid updates since Bloodlust Trait mod was made, so it should still be working as far as I tested.

So far one issue has been reported and resolved.
3 out of 32 ratings are negative for some reason, I haven't got the feedback sadly.
I also haven't yet had the time to play anything, so while I tested every function of this mod, I haven't actually played with it enough.

If you find any bugs, problems, inbalance, or unintended behavior, please tell me about it! Just comment here or make a discussion, I'll try to fix it as soon as possible.

Feel free to suggest features as well.
Medicwattson 25 Apr, 2024 @ 9:26pm
Just asking, does the blood lust mod still work? I recently did a mod communion for your mod.
・・  [author] 27 Oct, 2023 @ 1:53pm
@HATECRIMER Thanks for feedback,
the conversion messages will appear only once now, and I also made them more clear, as well as changed the mod's description.

There are two kinds of messages:
"Converted the Bloodlust trait" - appears when BloodlustTraitCompatibility is active and the common trait used by Dynamic Traits and Evolving Traits World mods is converted to the trait my mod adds.
"Converted the BloodlustTrait to Bloodlust" - appears when BloodlustTraitToOtherMods is active and my trait (added by this mod) is converted to the common trait used.
(These messages have been changed with the latest update)

Seems like you have the latter one, but I don't get why you would continuously use BloodlustTraitToOtherMods though? It's supposed that you turn it on just once before removing my mod.
I guess the description was misleading, sorry for bad English.
HATECRIMER 26 Oct, 2023 @ 7:41pm
Is the "converted the bloodlust trait to bloodlust" message a bug? I've tried both spawing in with the trait and earning it and that message continuously appears about the character over and over and over again.
・・  [author] 6 Oct, 2023 @ 3:16am
@-JoyStick- Heh you can also add Last Push Trait mod for your new character to not be afraid of being surrounded ;)
Kerez 5 Oct, 2023 @ 6:16pm
this sounds weird but man i can't wait for my main character to die at this point so i can create a god forsaken killing machine with this, problem is my main is just too damn lucky
・・  [author] 22 Sep, 2023 @ 12:37pm
@Abusamadres Jones
Haven't thought about that, thank you for pointing out!
I set them mutually exclusive, meaning you won't be able to pick both Bloodlust and Fear of Blood traits at the same time.
This update won't affect existing characters.
Abusamadres Jones 20 Sep, 2023 @ 12:18pm
I haven't tested it yet but it should not be compatible with hemophobia vanilla trait, right ?
・・  [author] 13 Sep, 2023 @ 3:21am
@老约翰 Ok. I haven't tested the mod in multiplayer, but it should work.
老约翰 13 Sep, 2023 @ 12:15am
I would like to use optional skills in situations where my server has multiple MP players
老约翰 10 Sep, 2023 @ 7:27am
@・・ Thank you:steamthumbsup:
・・  [author] 10 Sep, 2023 @ 4:25am
@老约翰 Yeah, you can just read the workshop description lol.
They also have descriptions in the game, I even made proper posters with text.

You'll need to enable just BloodlustTrait .
It's the mod itself.

You can also select one of the BloodlustTrait*Points submods to set the trait cost you like.
(Otherwise the trait could only be earned, see Earning The Trait section)

If you use any mods that also add bloodlust trait (For example Dynamic Traits), you should enable BloodlustTraitCompatibility .
For more info and BloodlustTraitToOtherMods read Compatibility section.
老约翰 9 Sep, 2023 @ 8:54pm
8 Units Mod ID ,Do you have instructions for use?:steamfacepalm:
・・  [author] 4 Sep, 2023 @ 2:30pm
@R3xxion Updated the compatibility submods, check out Compatibility section.
My mod already gives stress and unhappyness reduction on kill, and you can even customize how much to reduce via sandbox settings.
So you should just enable the Bloodlust Trait Compatibility submod to allow only my mod to handle bloodlust.
R3xxion 4 Sep, 2023 @ 12:44pm
so Evolving Traits World have a perk or dynamically acquired perk called Bloodlust, giving stress and unhappyness reduction on kill, I wanted to ask if you could make that it just replaces the thing with your perk
・・  [author] 3 Sep, 2023 @ 11:39am
@R3xxion Did a quick check, Evolving Traits World mod uses the same id for the bloodlust trait as Dynamic Traits, meaning you can use the same submods for conversion. See Dynamic Traits section in description.
Or do you mean some other kind of compatibility? Feel free to suggest things.
R3xxion 3 Sep, 2023 @ 5:11am
Can you also make this work/compatible for Evolving Traits World (ETW)?

@P1azma & @xMailMoose
Now the trait is not pickable during character creation by default.
You will have to earn it (See Earning The Trait section).
You can also enable one of the submods to return it back to character creation with desired cost.
Death Divers 3 Sep, 2023 @ 3:13am
what was the update?
Leone "Black Jack" Capone 3 Sep, 2023 @ 12:00am
if you'd like some balance tips, I'd probably make it cost 6 points rather than give you 4 points, since it has more benefits that downsides and killing zombies/being covered in blood is really easy to achieve, essentially making it free points.
