This is a nice look for the bigger and bolder collection, but if you can make room so you can add the Bells of Skyrim you would have a nice set up. The Bigger and Bolder collection does work with Run for your Lives mod, but does quit fit well with the Bigger and Bolder city collection. It's just a thought Coming from a Gamer, Maybe update the Bigger Bolder Collection so the Bells of Skyrim mod fits and works with Bigger and Bolder. As it sets now it really doesn't work or look right in the game of The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim LE.

For those who have the invisible wall problem, if you get the mod 'Civil War Cleanup' and install it so that it is before this in the load order, the invisible wall issue will go away. It's something to do with Windhelm after the civilwar questline, and the cleanup mod reverts Windhelm to its standard appearance, which this mod can then alter successfully.

Askarian, I had the same issue, but I practices a new start in Windhelm and the house was there, so I assumed it was either a combo of mods or the fact I installed this halfway through my playthrough
Dr. Tölpel 23 May, 2015 @ 3:22am
The house near the inn (east, up the stairs) is nearly completly missing, only one door and the ice on the roof are there.
Massive Anorak 19 May, 2015 @ 11:05am
I assume it's due to another mod but the right hand wall where the Aretino residence should be is invisible on my playthrough. This is not the same as the post civil war issue posted below however. Have not seen similar issues with other cities though strangely. I don't have the pit fighters mod so it isn't that. Is there a way to refresh the cells the game uses or something?

Great mods however!

I have a bit of a problem, after putting these mods on my pc skyrim quit working
deadlyifrit 20 Feb, 2015 @ 3:19am
usually i love the bigger and better series mods but this one gave me a couple of things to complain about so here goes. 1: i really wish the marketplace square wasnt so large. it look so empty even when there are 6 or more people in it. its just too big. 2: i wish you wouldnt have included anything about the pit cause i actually have another (very popular) mod that adds in the quests and the fights and its very well done and voice acted. and 3: the gated area outside of hjerim is a little...odd. the fence isnt quite complete and leaves a gaping hole outside of the gate therefor making the whole thing useless, and the way it lines up is just a tad odd. other than that it looks great :)
Parsifal 2 Jan, 2015 @ 7:03am
Your right, all the bigge and bolder mods just mix the houses around to trick you. You took effort man I appreciate that, my favorite hold now has its glory fulfilled. Thanks man :)

Does the Pit Factions mod work with this awesome mod? Doesnt matter to me if it does or doesnt, just would simply like to know!
john94 31 Oct, 2014 @ 8:44am
for those who want a lore friendly pit that they can fight in theres a quest mod here on steam called the pit faction i dont know if its compadable with this mod or not the only thing that would make it not is that it adds an extra building to the gray quaters if this mod adds a buliding in the same spot it would probaly cause a CTD
tax e. vader 24 Oct, 2014 @ 5:12pm
If you want to even attempt Pit Fights again, I have an idea. So, I've seen a few mods that add custom spawnpoints (For extra events and predators). You might want to look into how they managed that, and add, for example, a wolf spawnpoint and a Stormcloak Soldier spawnpoint, at opposite sides of the Pit. I hope this idea helps you if you decide to attempt the fights again.
ChaoZer0 25 Sep, 2014 @ 7:59pm
guys I have found a solution to the invisible wall in windhelm market AFTER the civil war subscribe to the "civil war cleanup" mod and it will set the old model of windhelm (and other destroyed cities) to its original model and the invisible wall is gone (though mod has had its fair share of complaints) such as "my game keeps crashing"
copley28 24 Sep, 2014 @ 9:37am
you also might want to look into whiterun clean up mods.... the creators of the game are known to use familiar codes in situations like this... (you could probably look into helgen as well)
ChaoZer0 23 Sep, 2014 @ 3:34pm
ok understandable, but I have a theory about the invisible wall. but the chances are very small. there is a civil war cleanup mod that restores the old model of the cities. and it MIGHT work im testing it out. or of course the most logical (and harder) solution is to get it fixed
djspeakes1990  [author] 22 Sep, 2014 @ 9:35pm
Can't. I tried to resurrect the Pit quests when I first started this mod and screwed everything up so badly that I had to scrap the mod and start over. I just ain't cut out for scripting, man. Or at least I don't know nearly enough about it to attempt to build an entire functional quest for fighting in the Pit. If and when I ever do learn enough about it, I would love to see Windhelm's arena come back to life and host awesome pitfights. But for now there's really nothing I can do about it.
ChaoZer0 21 Sep, 2014 @ 3:56pm
and please make it so i can enter the pit and do battles there
ChaoZer0 21 Sep, 2014 @ 3:53pm
has the invisible wall after the capture of windhelm been resolved cause I was planning to to the imperial questline
kurtrhinehart 21 Sep, 2014 @ 7:33am
I've been subscribing to all of these mods, but rather than review each one individually I have decided to simply place one review for the lot.
Overall I have to say this is excellent work, it gives the towns and villages a much livelier feel to them and helps populate cities that felt, frankly, underpopulated. Now there are plenty of people and more merchants, which is huge relief when disposing of all that loot!
Not to mention all the extra houses fit in really well, they have been blended in well with the city and are an excellent way of expanding things without expanding the city itself Its neat, well thought out and lore friendly.
Well done!

I think you're right about the Imperial Questline causing the invisible wall. If you're right, I'm going to be pretty pissed off at myself. Damn faithless imperials...
djspeakes1990  [author] 17 Sep, 2014 @ 8:48pm
The player home and all the houses in that neighborhood already HAVE fences around them, and as for the ones that don't, there isn't any room for one. The street literally runs right by their front doors.
Mithniir 17 Sep, 2014 @ 2:03pm
Okay, did you put a gate in front of the npc and player homes? This is a suggestion but i know people would love to have a fence around for protection and for decoration and stuff. That and your wife/husband is less likely to die. -Suggestion-
djspeakes1990  [author] 15 Sep, 2014 @ 9:32pm
I'll look into it though.
djspeakes1990  [author] 15 Sep, 2014 @ 9:31pm
Crap... I don't know why there'd be an invisible wall. Maybe it only appears if you attack the city and take it for the Imperials at the end of the civil war. I never side with the Imperials, so I've never seen this bug, but I don't know what could cause it. I know the cell uses different models after there's a battle there, like destroyed versions of buildings and such, but I don't know why it would just add an invisible wall to the edge of the market.
Jokingsquare8 15 Sep, 2014 @ 12:48pm
is it compatible with the faction pit fighters mod
Kid 15 Sep, 2014 @ 2:59am
Also, your mods are really great, super impressive how you did the Windhelm Pit! I have always been searching for a mod that adds the Pit. And it seems the gray face bug has been fixed for all the mods.
Kid 15 Sep, 2014 @ 2:57am
I downloaded this, explored the newly added places, everything worked great. Then I started the civil war quest where you take over Windhelm, and ever since there's been a impassable invisible wall stretching from SnowEye Books to the opening right of the blacksmith quarters. I can't reach Niranye, the jewelry woman, and the bakery. I can use tcl of course, but I thought I could point it out.
M-DOGG 15 Sep, 2014 @ 12:20am
So I found a bug lol. Cant talk to Nirayne ,AND I cant walk to the bakery or jasmines stall or front of Niraynes stall due to invisible wall...also spent 30 mins but cant find the pit key D:

You are most generous, but I don't need to be paid for my mods. I'm an artist, and this is just about the best possible outlet for my creativity.
Frasier Crane 11 Sep, 2014 @ 7:30pm
I love it, more people more realism. The vanilla Windhelm is just a Fortified small town which sucks. I appreciate what your doing by adding more buildings, neighborhoods and people. I appreciate people like you who improve the cities and adding more realism so that I don't have to do it. I would donate money to you (espicially if you add whole districs to windhelm) but my money is really tight right now. However things should be improving finacially for me in the next few months, and if you keep up the good work i'll pay you a little bit of money for your time.
djspeakes1990  [author] 10 Sep, 2014 @ 11:00pm
@asianboy500 Eventually, yes... if it were not for the kindness of one of my other added characters. :) Atheli Ulana, you might notice if you enter her house, shelters the less fortunate residents of the Grey Quarter, at least as many as she can manage at a time. Just a little bit of backstory I came up with as I was making the NPCs for my mod.

I've already exported the facegen files myself for your mod and that does fix the greyface bug effectively.
You can find the facegen files in
Skyrim\Data\Meshes\actors\character\facegendata\facegeom\windhelm - bigger and bolder.esp
Skyrim\Data\textures\actors\character\facegendata\facetint\windhelm - bigger and bolder.esp

just extract out the "windhelm - bigger and bolder.esp" folders, create the same but separate Meshes and Textures directory, then for BSA packing, I think you'll have to use the Archive.exe. It's found in the main skyrim directory.
djspeakes1990  [author] 8 Sep, 2014 @ 12:22pm
@Blackwal| I already added idle markers and made the appropriate AI Packages. I may not be an expert modder, but I at least know my way around AI Packages. I've found that if you catch her standing around way out in front of her stall instead of next to it, usually if you go up and bump into her or something it'll kind of snap her back to reality, as it were, and make her go and man her stall. Navmesh is a subject I haven't really delved into yet, but I'll see what I can learn so maybe I can fix this for future updates. Also still trying to figure out how to archive the FaceTint and FaceGeom files so I can permanently fix the dark face bug on my added NPCs.
Amplifier 7 Sep, 2014 @ 11:19pm
You mean Niranye? She works fine for me. But you're right about the jewelry merchant. I'm not big expert on this but I guess the problem is, expanding the world space will require editing navmesh. NPCs only roam about wherever the navmesh covers, if there's one big void somewhere, they will never go there.
Maybe you can try adding idle markers for the store. You'll also need to create AI packages for the merchant to use it.
djspeakes1990  [author] 7 Sep, 2014 @ 2:53pm
@MitoPesak I realize there's a slight issue with that High Elf woman not standing behind her stall like she's supposed to, and my new jewelry merchant Jasmina doesn't like to stand in front of her stall like she's supposed to either. I think it has to do with the fact that I moved the outer wall way back to widen the open space and NPCs aren't recognizing the extra space as "playable", in other words they don't know they're supposed to be able to walk there. I have no idea how to fix this.
Bojan Oklagija 7 Sep, 2014 @ 8:15am
The mod is great, but I think there is a bug at the marketplace.
djspeakes1990  [author] 4 Sep, 2014 @ 8:26am
Yes, you'll have to find the key by doing a bit of detective work. Try starting your search in the Palace of the Kings.
Amplifier 3 Sep, 2014 @ 10:27pm
hey, I notice the entrance to the Pit is there but locked. Where's the key for it exactly? Is it hidden somewhere?
alex.czerwinski 2 Sep, 2014 @ 6:50pm
does this conflict with any other mods that add an arena to windhelm
djspeakes1990  [author] 30 Aug, 2014 @ 10:07pm
@topramen068 I really don't know how I can explain that in more detail. If you subscribe to my mod, you should be able to open it in the Creation Kit if you have it. If not, the Creation Kit is free and you can get it right here on Steam. If you haven't used it before, just open the program, go to the upper left corner, under the File tab, double click Data, double click Skyrim (Master File), and double click Windhelm - Bigger and Bolder.esp and press the button that says "Set as Active File", and hit OK.
