Okay everyone, I released an update which should make this mod work again for the current update. Enjoy. No new additions other than adding in a way to see how rare the new jobs on average will be.

I am getting back into barotrauma and seeing what I missed in the newest updates. I can safely say this mod does not work anymore until I get this next patch out. I expect an update to come out minimum a week from now, but that can change.

Okay, I am back from death and destruction. I plan on getting an update out sometime very soon to fix the new issues that popped up.

Should mod jobs be as common as the base ones? I'm trying to test if it's working but can't tell because it's not a monumental difference if so. We hired some mod characters through the campaign before adding this mod.

The times when I do get it to work, I have to put them in the order Lua, All the classes, Job Trauma.

Ideally, I like the idea of combining this with the character permadeath so people have an incentive to keep bots alive and a variety of choices when we get back to the station.

Edit: So I did a quick edit to make the % of replacing a character 100% rather than 62% and it looks like it just doesn't really work well with dedicated servers. At most it seems to replace 1 class, even with my main.lua edit.

Glad to see it works even after the updates. I'm currently in a moving situation as I was evicted, but I still plan on updating this at some point. Going to be a while tho.

I plan on making a return sometime beginning of next year. Some of my major projects are almost complete, allowing me to continue on the next update early next year.

Of course I am okay with having other people help update this mod if anyone is interested. The main thing I wanna solve is how to save data directly to the save file so dedicated servers can be consistent.

Not at this moment as shortly after my last comment I was moving workplaces and that needed all of my time. So right now I am settled in and am planning on what I want to do moving forward.

So what are my plans now? What I need to do is relearn the codebase for Barotrauma and figure out what changed. And once I do that, then I can continue work on the next update which should fix the dedicated server issue.

But, as it stands now, I am maintaining 8 other major projects away from steam, and this one happens to be a very low priority for me. Right now it seems to be working for single player and hosted multiplayer. Dedicated Servers just can't save data right now, but it technically works.

I do plan on continuing my work as soon as my queue for other projects clears up, but for right now don't expect any updates for at least another month. I am very active with comments, so if you all have any issues or just want to chat, feel free to do so and I will be happy to assist you!

Oh, that would explain a lot. That confirms my suspicions from earlier. Once I find out what to do, I'll bring out the update. Might take a few days as I am being pulled to other mod projects

So I tried more time to certify. For now more specifically is the mod currently seems to work in player-hosted servers, but not in servers hosted through a dedicated server, it doesn't generate the jobtrauma.data file. which both are having the lua mod (dedicated server having both lua mod and serverside lua.)

since the new lua was update, this mod seems not generating new jobtrauma.data anymore once the game start, waitting for update XD

Yeah, all jobs work with this mod. However, the rarity of the job depends on the price of the job. The more expensive the job is, the rarer the job will be. If a job cost a fortune, you may only find it once in your entire game.

It seems that its the former. I've finally found a single iron rider for hire in a separatist factory in an alternate save. Guess I'll just have to keep looking

I know it says it works on every modded job. But does the iron raider job from maddened black sea's armory are also hireable? I'm asking this because so far, the iron raider has not appeared in any outpost I've visited. I don't know if it's because iron raiders are rare or if this mod somehow doesn't work?

@booyaboi Sorry for the late response, but this works with existing saves. You should have no issues using this mod with your save. You can also remove the mod and the original jobs will be restored.

yeah this is basically just better since it works with EVERY job, instead of having to ask the creator to add support with a niche job

Yep, i'll see what I can do ALE119. So, I have been looking into getting faction hires to work, and for some reason they coded it in a way that makes it nearly impossible to change. The good news is I am experienced with challenges like this, so I will figure out how to get access to faction hires so I can add in jobs automatically there too. The last thing I want to do is to auto generate job files to get that done since that leads to issues like how Global Job Patch does it.

Starting clutter? Are you talking about the fact that modded jobs add themselves to the starting crew? Yeah, I was going to do something about that. I am not sure if I can fix it, but if there is a will, there is a way.

hopefully you can also add an option to cutback on the starting clutter in the single player when you have custom jobs
