Heads up, this is included in vanilla finally. thank you for making this mod back in the day, it made a lot of my builds possible
Knapp 20 Aug, 2017 @ 12:10pm
Leg room, you monster. :-P
Hyperion 22 Oct, 2016 @ 4:37pm
Thank you for making this mod and enabling me to continue with doing a certain replica that I couldn't possibly finish with the horribly designed 3x3 bounding box for the obviously 2x2 sized passenger seats!

im curious how did you manage to change the placement box in these passenger seat assets a LOT of modders leave an awful excessive amount of wasted space on their creations.
Silent Hawk 24 Dec, 2015 @ 10:45am
YES! now i can make my car

I've got a suggestion that might be a nice addition. How about a 1x1x1 seat version of this with no backrest on it? Just a flat seat only with maybe a slight arrow of some sort to inidcate the facing. Should the feature ever get implemented (which I seriously hope it would), this kind of "seat pad" could be a viable method to mounting ridable areas onto armor vehicles and aircraft for allied players to sit and ride from while using their own personal firearms to provide additional support or cover for troops entering/leaving in the case of transports or gunships.

@plαYer2k

I was able to test it last night, and its fine. I just wanted to make sure because most mods that add a new block needed to be updated. I wasn't able to get on when I wrote that so, no worries now.

Thank you for this mod though! Fixes a lot of size issues for my ships now. ^-^ Can make them much more compact now.

Does it lack textures under DX11?
It should not unless the CubeBlocks definition changed.
kitsunelegendXx 2 Jun, 2015 @ 2:20pm
Will this mod be updated for DX11? Or doesn't it need it?
Devilofether 11 Apr, 2015 @ 7:52am
that doesn't make any sense, all three versions would have a height of 2, and so we are clear, instead of leg room, we have this in the centre of three blocks at the sides of the seat; but I just realised it was supposed to be 3hx3wx2l blocks (I dont trust myself with the order these numbers anymore)
plaYer2k  [author] 10 Apr, 2015 @ 9:16pm
With 2x3x2 you mean height and depth 2 but width 3? That wouldnt work well due to the limited height. So it had to be 2x3x3 which is here https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=308417811
Devilofether 10 Apr, 2015 @ 9:07pm
what about a 2x3x2 model while you are at it (so you can center the seats at an odd-oriented location?
›Kolanaki 8 Apr, 2015 @ 7:51pm
Ack! Bummer, dude.
plaYer2k  [author] 8 Apr, 2015 @ 5:31am
Sure that woul be possible. Though i cant do much SE related right now as a month ago my PSU died and as it turne out, it destroyed my mainboard too which burned down when i installed the new PSU \o/

Would it be possible to offset large ship seats to be in the middle or front edge of the block instead of the rear edge?
plaYer2k  [author] 10 Oct, 2014 @ 8:57am
It cant be available for large ships as one seat already uses the smallest resolution possible ... 1x1x1 blocks.
You can use the small-to-large rotor feature and connect small block rotors on large ships through a rotor, but other than that there is nothing you can do right now as a single "block type" can have only one seat and not more. Thus you can not have 2, 3, 4 or more seats for a single block at all.

I hope that clears the situation C:
[Be]Ribeye- 10 Oct, 2014 @ 7:00am
Not available for Large ships ? :(
ChaosShadoWolfe 26 Sep, 2014 @ 3:09pm
Don't worry, I already fixed the issue at hand. Was a mistake on my part, I didn't subscribe correctly somehow. Sorry for the shock.
plaYer2k  [author] 25 Sep, 2014 @ 9:45pm
Oh crap then if the current update did that.
Also there is no shame in telling someone that it doesnt work as intended, that is needed to actually fix a situation that needs it, simple as that.

Furthermore i have to give bad news. I am visiting my family right now and thus cant update as my laptop is super weak and cant run SE in order to fix the bugs properly.
That means that any bugfixing will have to wwait about 6 days.
ChaosShadoWolfe 25 Sep, 2014 @ 5:07pm
I fear I can't place the seats as 2X2X3 at all. Perhaps you need to update it to match the current Update? I feel bad for telling you this cause I really like the idea of the mod and its purpose.

erdrik 29 Aug, 2014 @ 8:11pm
Thats ok man, No rush. Sorry about the connection. Ouch. :/
plaYer2k  [author] 29 Aug, 2014 @ 7:04am
Aww, i was at 100MB/120MB of download progress with my 6kB/s connection at home (shame) and then the hotfix got released ...
Looks like i wont get SE earlier than tomorrow evening, sorry.
erdrik 28 Aug, 2014 @ 6:08pm
sweet! thanks a bunch. :)
plaYer2k  [author] 28 Aug, 2014 @ 5:59pm
Alright, i will do that once i updated to the next version tomorrow :)
erdrik 28 Aug, 2014 @ 5:30pm
yea 3 deep 2 wide.
I know I can just places them spaced properly, but I can't force others on the server to, hence the request.
plaYer2k  [author] 28 Aug, 2014 @ 10:58am
By that you mean 3 blocks depth and 2 blocks width?
Because the model actually is aligned to the back, you can achieve that my giving 1 block room in front of the seat.
erdrik 28 Aug, 2014 @ 10:10am
I would download this if it were 2x3x3, and aligned to the back. (space for the legs)
Can you make a version like that?
plaYer2k  [author] 26 Aug, 2014 @ 4:45pm
Sorry but i can not, because the large blocks (station too) do have a seat already.
Also you can not make a multi person seat right now and thus there is no way to integrate a very compact seat for large blocks.

The only workaround is the small-to-large rotor feature with which you connect a large rotor base with a small rotor head and thus are able to build small blocks that are somewhat nicely connected to large blocks.
John Sheperd 26 Aug, 2014 @ 4:27pm
can you make this usable in stations too.
plaYer2k  [author] 21 Aug, 2014 @ 4:00pm
Sorry but neither do i have the software (3Ds Max, Maya) nor the skills to make proper 3D models. I am usually a coder and thats it.

So sadly i am not the right person for such a mod request but i wish you good luck in getting such a model done and ingame :)
TiberiusGV 21 Aug, 2014 @ 3:36pm
I should have read more of the comments before posting this to reddit. I think it may interest you. http://www.reddit.com/r/spaceengineers/comments/2e82ng/mod_request_combat_transport_seats/
plaYer2k  [author] 21 Aug, 2014 @ 12:32pm
Well i requested such a model change from Eikester (we made the SuperCaps mod together) and it turned out to not be functional yet.
You can have multiple seats per block aswell as make them "triggerable" but the astronaut still takes place at just one of them and always that one seat.

So the games engine is not ready for multi-seat blocks yet. As sad as it is.

We had several versions ready, 3 seats in a row at the back, 2x 3 seats back to back in the middle and 2x 3 seats facing one direction while the ones behind are higher than the other. But yeah, none of them worked like intended so they are on halt until it works better.

As workaround for stations you can use the small-to-large rotor trick as seen here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zWyZfhFjrE

I hope that helps :)
Sawft 21 Aug, 2014 @ 12:07pm
I like it, i didnt realize it only worked on small ships. Any way we could have it for large an station? Thanks.
Vermillion 21 Aug, 2014 @ 5:59am
YES THANK YOU
Fastmadcowhino 20 Aug, 2014 @ 4:56pm
Why would they make seats that large in the first place same with turrets...
Shepard (KeGGeR) 20 Aug, 2014 @ 4:18pm
YESSSSSSS Thank you so much!
Sylvain 20 Aug, 2014 @ 3:39pm
well.... i guess xD its just that i thought that you could maybe put that axis in the middle, so you can line it out right if you want a seat exactly in the middle... does that make sence to you?
Double-O-Douglas 20 Aug, 2014 @ 3:01pm
@plaYer2k Ah, my bad. I was to excited about it to read the description :csgohelmet:
plaYer2k  [author] 20 Aug, 2014 @ 3:00pm
@Gangster Ape
That is for small ships, only.

@Sint-Mrten073
What do you mean with "line out right"? The seats are 2 blocks wide instead of 3, they are also 2 blocks deep instead of 3. And for both axis they are exactly in the middle of the used volume.
Or do you mean that you want a seat that is 3 blocks wide again so that your character sits exactly above a block and not between two blocks of the placed grid below the seat?
If so, then i will add it soon :)
Sylvain 20 Aug, 2014 @ 2:03pm
can you line it out right? i like the mod, but it snaps weird. so it doesnt really work if you want a small ship seat in the middle.
Double-O-Douglas 20 Aug, 2014 @ 1:51pm
Can you make it for small ships? I need for a transport shuttle I'm making.
tobyman59 20 Aug, 2014 @ 1:39am
Thank you I am going make lifeboat pods using this.
dontstoplivin 19 Aug, 2014 @ 5:57pm
I now have appropriate seats for the low priced tickets. XD
plaYer2k  [author] 19 Aug, 2014 @ 4:46pm
The normal passenger seat works quite well on large ships. Their issue is that each block volume can take only one block and thus only one seat can placed into one block.

The only possible workaround i see here are either multi-seat blocks (not sure if that is even possible right now) and the use of small-to-large rotor workarounds to connect small block structures to large block ones
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zWyZfhFjrE .
Daeborn 19 Aug, 2014 @ 4:39pm
could you please make it to where it replaces the default seat yet making to still work on large ships?
if possable of course
plaYer2k  [author] 19 Aug, 2014 @ 4:08pm
Choo Choooo! Lets roll!!! :D
