@metapod vevo- it is loosely inspired by a real house, but it really doesnt resemble the irl house at all.
@plague_d0ct0r - Regarding the garage doors, they are unfortunately a bit messed up on most of the houses. This is due to an oversight by me in the early planning stages of the houses.. The doors seem to work best at certain height, but the garages are awkward just slightly too short to handle it. Starting with 27 Oak st though, the garage doors should be in much better shape.
@U2TLY - I don't anticipate adding smoke detectors unfortunately for a few reasons...
1 - these homes are part of a larger project & I struggled to get them to work independently of eachother.
2 - they're cool for like 10 seconds, then become incredibly annoying.
@Smoothdesigns - I know what you're talking about. It is an issue specific to this house (this house was built a bit different from the other ones). I will look into a solution.
This home was originally 17 Oak St. but I changed it to 18 Oak St to align better with a WIP future project (entire neighborhood).
Thats the plan! The in-progress neighborhood includes 12 homes + a commercial property.
I currently have 4.5 homes & the commercial property complete. Each property takes quite a while to put together due to their complexity. Its still too early to set a timeframe for the release of the full assembled neighborhood, but I am planning to slowly release the individual homes in the meantime.
Regarding the cables themselves, The main cable connecting the house to the telephone pole (sort-of) does what you're describing.. If you destroy the voxels on either end of the cable, power will go out. Breaking the cable with a bullet doesn't trigger this though.. Not sure if its possible, but I will look into it.
This only applies to the cable from the house to the telephone pole though... The cables within the walls of the house & the cables spanning the telephone poles are purely decorative. I don't intend on making these functional as thats too much work lol.
Thanks for the heads up! I am aware of the bug that allows switches to bypass power outages, but have unfortunately been unsuccessful with figuring out a solution. :( Was kind-of hoping people wouldnt notice lol.
I do know the issue is associated with the layering of the scripts. This layering method allowed for flexibility & modularity that makes the electrical system infinitely expandable (this is important as I'm actively working on expanding the map to be an entire neighborhood), but the downside of that is the bug that allows downstream switches to bypass the power outage.
If you (or anyone) knows of a potential solution, I'd be thrilled to hear!
The ceiling fans do not currently function..
I am working on an update that includes working ceiling fans (amongst other new content/improvements), but its not ready yet.
1 of the bathrooms is "half". It only contains a toilet and sink.
Hence 2.5 bath. :)
The home is primarily based on a mash-up of various online photos & floorplans.
I don't plan to make the fans functional unfortunately.
I originally planned to make the fans functional (hence the double wide light switches), but couldnt get the script to work properly. ended up giving up after many hours of troubleshooting.
Thanks for deciding to create this.
