This is cool! Maybe make the white bit not a gemstone? Feels weird that such a texture would be, well... a *gem*stone. Other than that, love it!

You choose to use maccaw masked as a base and just do the same thing but again and you strip away any inspiration. A shame.

Reminds me a lot of macaw masked with how the main attraction is the cool random color texture, but unlike macaw masked I think the texture that the random color gets applied to looks a lot better on this due to how the gem texture seems to get broken up a lot more by the lighting rather than just absorbing everything and being an eyesore when exposed to light like macaw masked. The stripes / strokes of light that appear also make it look a little more painterly, and while I still think it the texture could use a lot of work, it's a big step up from macaw masked.
I do think the white gem texture is way too bright and saturated though. The grayish white colors that it becomes when the texture gets battle scarred look like the colors that should have been used for it at factory new.
