make a version that is the normal gen instead of the sphere gen
Ghost 30 Jan, 2018 @ 11:49am
It's the only one I've found that works... It'll get done eventually, then I can get started on the other 8... :P
Zacknetic  [author] 29 Jan, 2018 @ 11:57pm
Wowee wow wow. Use something more modern. I made this so long ago. But thanks.
Ghost 21 Jan, 2018 @ 12:58pm
So for my number; it takes about 32 seconds for a large welder to weld 100 points, this is using MMasters LCDs 2 to monitor it so it is a little off just for update time of the LCD so ~2 second deviation expected. The Grav requires 2 million construction points. I based my calculation at 30 seconds just for ease.
Ghost 21 Jan, 2018 @ 12:34pm
And yes, I'm building this thing in survival... because I can :P
Ghost 21 Jan, 2018 @ 12:33pm
My numbers are wrong, shouldn't have tried calculating that when so tired... So previous setup with one welder will take 155 hours, I have 3 welders on it now and am down to 55 hours.
Ghost 20 Jan, 2018 @ 9:06pm
If I have my numbers right this thing will take about 3 hours to build in survival with a large block welder working on it... 2.7 hours to be a little more precise.

Oh sorry, I thought you were spam so I deleted your request. I'll send you a friend request.
人族狙击手 23 Jun, 2017 @ 9:17am
HI。你能否做一个普通版本的 Gravity 。我需要一个平面的 Gravity 。我申请添加你为好友,希望你可以告诉我如何制作 Gravity MOD。谢谢。
Can you make an ordinary version of Gravity. I need a plane of Gravity. I applied to add you as a friend and hope you can tell me how to make Gravity MOD. Thank you.:steamfacepalm:
Olly 18 Jan, 2017 @ 2:34am
ok thank you.
Olly 18 Jan, 2017 @ 2:30am
any chance of fixing? Because my space station is so big i dont want to use 20 generator....
Zacknetic  [author] 18 Jan, 2017 @ 2:25am
It's definitely broken. :)
Olly 18 Jan, 2017 @ 1:44am
could it be that this is broken? Want to weld it but all parts inside, but can not weld it to 100% It stay at 0%
Zacknetic  [author] 4 Dec, 2015 @ 5:18pm
100 range
Nepperoni 4 Dec, 2015 @ 5:14pm
Is it 100g's or 100x the range? or both?
737✈Garrus 28 Oct, 2015 @ 8:10am
Oh, ok:)
Zacknetic  [author] 28 Oct, 2015 @ 1:50am
Thats okay, this was made forever ago. Nobody will want to use this once planets arrive.
737✈Garrus 28 Oct, 2015 @ 1:41am
If you remove the collision mesh the grav-gen will be almost impossible to remove i think...
Spock The Builder 26 Jun, 2015 @ 11:55am
this is great, it just needs to be redone with the new dx11 files... Kinda weird having a black object in my base...
Rita Estrazda 25 May, 2015 @ 10:38pm
Hey can you add a slightly more powerful plane gravity generator for BIG ships
Noxtor 13 Jan, 2015 @ 5:45pm
Yes Perfect, !! I was looking for something like this.. Now, can You do the same thing with A,M. Blocks ? and a Normal gravity gen ?
and Please if you make it indestructable. Keep this one around.
asr43331 10 Jan, 2015 @ 6:38pm
can you make a cylindric gravity generator?
thekingxenon 24 Dec, 2014 @ 12:15pm
can you make a normal gravity generater thta just as powerful please
SPEEDRUNNER - Z 15 Dec, 2014 @ 1:36pm
I accept the challenge to build this!!

right after im done building the other 4 mods of similar nature....
Sir.Hisenberg 9 Oct, 2014 @ 7:10pm
its broken, dosent since last patch
Stinger 18 Sep, 2014 @ 4:52am
About the spherical thing:

Indestructability would be nice, as, basically, the thing's purpose is giving gravity to planets.
An invisible apon-built model would also be nice; I like being seen as a wizard after having made gravity.
Zacknetic  [author] 17 Sep, 2014 @ 6:06pm
Hope to see everyone at the F5 party tomorrow :)

This update is going to be a game changer!
Zacknetic  [author] 17 Sep, 2014 @ 6:05pm
Quick status update:

So I tried to add min and max to the length width and hight of the original gravity field generator cubeblock.sbc and couldn't get it anything to work. I'm sure, come tomorrow around 11 A.M. EST this WILL be possible due to the coding API update. I'll give it a try if you guy's are still interested. ( though I bet I won't be the first to get it working and uploaded :P )

As for the spherical gravity mod, do you guys want it to be indestructable? Want it to be more powerful?

Should I just remove the time restrictions and create a build / play version of it (icon is visable in build mode, invisable in play mode) ? Or do you want me to make the building time reasonable so you can build it in survival?

Let me know.

Oh and I'm all set up with the wire now. Unfortunately had to buy an entire box of modular cables for $30 due to time convenience. I guess I could of ebay'd the one cable but I wanted to get on my feet asap.
xxDragon492xx 17 Sep, 2014 @ 7:51am
Ty Lethegrin, Take your time man, Good code takes the longest to cook, and honestly, So do good cables :)
Stinger 17 Sep, 2014 @ 4:30am
Alrighty. Take all the time you need, I'm perfectly fine with it; after all, you ain't no youtube channel that shamelessely steals from a good youtuber's ideas .
Zacknetic  [author] 16 Sep, 2014 @ 5:41pm
Okay so you want an extended version of the standard grav gen? I will look into it as soon as I get a wire for my power supply unit tomorrow. I recently traveled from China to the U.S. and I somehow left the 8 pin wire from the psu to my graphics card.

Moral of the story, 9 times out of 10, don't buy modular power supply units... they cause more trouble than they're worth.

Sorry about the delay guys. I just made a big move. I promise I'll get started tomorrow.
xxDragon492xx 13 Sep, 2014 @ 4:34am
I Third the request, But make them adjustable radius/high Like-- 1KM Max or so? Seems balanced enough, I'd like to be abled to use them in Rock vacuums and such where the size of standard grav gen can't quite reach as far as needed... Love this thing :P
Astro 12 Sep, 2014 @ 9:48am
I second that request from Stinger. I'm working on a tank map and it would really help the performance if I had a modded standard gravity generator that could cover the whole map instead of 100 vanilla ones.
Stinger 10 Sep, 2014 @ 2:18pm
Could you make a square/standard version of this? Would certainly help making Boost Pads a not-pain.
Nioreux 24 Aug, 2014 @ 1:55pm
... i think when he blinks he sumons in exploisions
Zacknetic  [author] 24 Aug, 2014 @ 1:51pm
@Star-X: Okay, well I have found that there are a lot of things that should work in space engineers but end up just making your ship explode. Not to mention the things that work in a stable single player environment and explode in a multiplayer server when your friend blinks at it. :D

@InfernoSlayer: Most likely a server problem. Out of curiosity, what happened exactly?
Nioreux 24 Aug, 2014 @ 12:57pm
wait i couple of days and itll be fixed in a micro patch or its a server problem
Star-X 24 Aug, 2014 @ 12:03pm
@ {Cc} Lethegrin: No idea, I haven't honestly played online yet. No friends of mine own the game, and I don't really know of any good servers to play on, so I've been playing offline this whole time. Also, the landing gear aspect is just a guess, I haven't tested out the landing gear idea yet. All I know is THEORETICALLY it should work. I'll be building some test building ship thingies sometime later to see how well my theory works.
Zacknetic  [author] 24 Aug, 2014 @ 11:34am
@ Star-X: how stable is it online with the landing gear locked to the planet? Every time I removed a block, it would freak out.

@InfernoSlayer: What seems to be the problem?
Nioreux 24 Aug, 2014 @ 7:05am
i think the streangh of the genarator kill you from the streangh
Star-X 23 Aug, 2014 @ 3:08pm
@ {Cc} Lethegrin: Actually there are more than 6 if you use ships, position them in the right spot(s), and lock them in place with landing gear. Ships aren't limited in orientation like stations are, which means a "station" ship locked in place with landing gear can be placed in ANY orientation. Mind you it is more difficult to pull off without issue, but the end result does mean that spherical planets can have buildings in any orientation.

How do I know this works? Well, I made a station for my Earthlike Planet skybox that, by default, was the wrong way. By placing thrusters and gyros on it and converting it to a large ship however I was able to get it aligned with the planet, thus making it look like a proper orbital station. Given that landing gear lets you lock something in place onto an asteroid or another ship, it therefore becomes possible to create a movable city whose individual buildings latch onto the spherical asteroid to form large groups of structures.
Zacknetic  [author] 23 Aug, 2014 @ 11:21am
Sure, flat spots work better. The problem is that if the planetoid is too small if you build anything flat on it and run a few meter away from the center, the astronaut starts standing sideways. I'm not sure how big is big enough. I think this is why Keen was reluctant to release this type of gravity generator to begin with.

I will do some testing later with variably sized planetoids though I'm not sure if the engine can handle anything much larger. I'll post my results here.
Anger Gingermane 23 Aug, 2014 @ 11:00am
I'm sure Sektan will add a spot and possibly even include a similar mod himself. I think he's just as interested in seeing his planetoids have gravity as we all are.
Zacknetic  [author] 23 Aug, 2014 @ 5:00am
@Star-X it does make Sektan's planetoids have gravity, but there are... problems.

- There are really only 6 usuable spots on these small planetoids for placing stations. (top, bottom, left, right, forward, and back)
-Even if you make a station there, the gravity is wonky at the extremities of the station. i.e. the character is running slightly sideways)
Star-X 22 Aug, 2014 @ 11:52am
Gonna test this out later. I'm dying to see if it makes Sektan's planetoids have actual gravity.
Zacknetic  [author] 21 Aug, 2014 @ 7:14pm
As far as I know, the max acceleration is fixed at the moment.
Murphy Turis 21 Aug, 2014 @ 5:08pm
Can you mod the Power (Gforce) of the Generator?
Because, O dont know how...
Zacknetic  [author] 21 Aug, 2014 @ 3:39pm
Yes, it works fine as of 1.044. I created it as a modification of the new block.
SoulTechnology 21 Aug, 2014 @ 3:16pm
and im assuming this one works wiht the current update unlike the last spherical gravity geenrator.... anwyay... i think this will go great with he large (perfeclty) spherical asteroids i downloaded.
