My goal is to create a map that is challenging without being outright impossible, and fair. The second level will (hopefully) have a noticeable increse in difficulty compared to the first.. and any stages that follow will hopefully be the same.

Yeah the mod you've got is a lot of fun. I've played it twice now lol. But in terms of Dark Souls, the HammerSouls mod has a few good ideas that you could think about, plus a bunch of your own as well. The only issue with that is there is the one mob that just one shots the player x.x

I aim to make a map that is challenging, not impossible. As I get better with actual mapmaking and whatnot I'll try to ramp up the difficulty of traps and puzzles and so on..

There is the HammerSouls mod, but it's not that great. But it's got a lot of stuff that's good about it that you could consider. But some of it is legit impossible, not hard.

not a bad idea, Resonat. I should look up the layouts of some dark souls dungeons / areas for inspiration for the second level, when I start building it...

Everything is appreciated! Every little bug must be squashed under the paladin's boot before its a completed map! I'll be updating it in a day or so once I fill in the rest of the tilemap i've laid out.

I'm still building the map, fixing obvious problems and so on.. The next version should be a more complete map.

Looks pretty good so far. The only problem I had was getting the gold key and using it on the wrong door. I was then stuck, and had no checkpoints to load from to remedy that.
