ok, thanks!
DaciaJC  [author] 14 Apr @ 8:21pm
@Khazukan Kazakit-ha! : it's not exactly "needed" anymore since CA made substantial changes/improvements to 3D portholes with the 5.0 update (the comparison image in the mod description is no longer representative of the current state of the game, I'm just too lazy to change it out). However, the skin tones in vanilla still look a little off to me, now with a reddish rather than blue tint in most cases, so I keep the mod available for those who prefer it to CA's portholes.
Khazukan Kazakit-ha! 9 Apr @ 5:00am
is this still needed?
iposkakali 5 Nov, 2024 @ 9:04pm
@DaciaJC: Thanks for the answer, but it seems this table is responsible for the porthole in battle. And not on the global map.
DaciaJC  [author] 4 Nov, 2024 @ 9:31am
@iposkakali : I think you'll find those types of values under db.pack > unit_porthole_camera_settings_tables. Cross-reference with main_units_tables, which has a column listing which porthole camera a given character or unit uses.
iposkakali 4 Nov, 2024 @ 5:15am
Sorry for being off topic, but maybe you know the name of the table for changing the view range in the character's porthole on the campaign map?

Highest honor to have CA try to obsolete your mod.
DaciaJC  [author] 26 Jul, 2024 @ 12:03pm
@Superbed2 : thank you for the reminder, should show as updated now.
Superbed2 20 Jul, 2024 @ 12:01am
update?:mhwhelp:
Wei 3 May, 2024 @ 9:21am
Hopefully one day they can all get subsurface scattering so their skin is less plasticy
DaciaJC  [author] 2 May, 2024 @ 2:35pm
@Wei : I am considering it. With CA's new portholes, some characters like Karl Franz look improved due to the adjusted shadow from his helmet, for example, but others such as the Fay Enchantress look a bit off. I'll have to devote some time to testing, perhaps next week.
Wei 2 May, 2024 @ 6:10am
Will you adjust your light position if you havne't already. The photo on the mod page shows a strong shadow from franz helmet, and it would probably look better with light from the side/front
Oh_Man[TFE] 1 May, 2024 @ 5:57pm
Ok good work legend
DaciaJC  [author] 1 May, 2024 @ 5:24pm
@Oh_Man[TFE] : the main differences are CA changed the sun's azimuth (instead of the porthole light source shining directly from the top, now it comes from the left) to create more dramatic facial shadowing; they tweaked some ambient color values to imitate light bouncing in shadowed areas; and characters now look more reddish than before, as if the sun were setting.

On the whole, I'd definitely say it's an improvement compared to launch. In fact, one of the changes they did made me realize I had originally neglected to adjust a certain value, so I just now updated the mod again to achieve a slightly more neutral skin tone.
Oh_Man[TFE] 1 May, 2024 @ 12:51pm
So what did the 'fix' actually do, if anything?
Spazz Maticus 30 Apr, 2024 @ 10:50pm
yeeeaah... the official fix from CA ist trash. I cant even tell the difference from before I was using your mod lmao.
張維克 30 Apr, 2024 @ 7:19pm
the so-called fix is still ick, keep updating this mod please.
Murthor Oathstone 30 Apr, 2024 @ 9:34am
the so-called fix is still ick, keep updating this mod please.
North Yorkshire Claret 29 Apr, 2024 @ 4:10pm
Source for CA apparently fixing this?
King Glenmore 20 Apr, 2024 @ 10:33pm
Apparently they "fixed" the lighting again in the upcoming 5.0 patch. But it remains to be confirmed on how much better it is compared to this mod.
Oh_Man[TFE] 18 Apr, 2024 @ 8:46pm
Goodbye sweet Prince
Canis Lupus 15 Mar, 2024 @ 12:43pm
Nice one!
DaciaJC  [author] 18 Feb, 2024 @ 8:50pm
@Canis Lupus : do you mean the character details/inventory screen? The lighting changes apply there as well, fortunately.
Canis Lupus 18 Feb, 2024 @ 1:41pm
Could you do this for the character screen?
不,开玩笑 6 Feb, 2024 @ 1:07am
@Dragon32 thanks!
Dragon32 5 Feb, 2024 @ 8:13am
@不,开玩笑
It's RPFM on Github.

Nice work, thank you!please put up the download link of the software to adjust the value, or fix a suitable value, the persona's skin often turns to black QAQ
Oh_Man[TFE] 23 Jan, 2024 @ 6:31am
Such a small thing in the grand scheme of the game, but I can't help but appreciate how much more 'premium' my legendary lords look now. Hats off!
Senryakku 14 Jan, 2024 @ 1:01am
Great mod, I always remembered the porthole to be great in WH1. I have no clue why CA never adressed this
DaciaJC  [author] 10 Jan, 2024 @ 7:30pm
@soulmindproductions : it should be compatible with SFO, I played a full C.Dwarfs campaign with both enabled without issue.

@Nerevarine : might it be another mod that's causing the conflict? I don't think anything here should affect that UI element. I tested new campaigns as Kairos and Belakor with just this mod enabled and didn't encounter crashes when hovering over the WoM bar.
sigmars_disciple 10 Jan, 2024 @ 1:33am
This won't work with SFO, or does it?
Nerevarine 8 Jan, 2024 @ 1:54am
This mod causes a crash if you hover over the winds of magic thresholds of any daemonic faction in the campaign map.
atunis 5 Jan, 2024 @ 10:44am
Dude this is a really amazing mod, 3D pictures look so much better! It even improves the character / inventory lightning.

Good job ! :empirecross:
Galba89 26 Dec, 2023 @ 12:12pm
Somewhat yes, but mostly it is due to the bad tools developers have to work with at CA.
Then again, redoing the entire engine is very much to ask, but is the main scource of issues.
SuperNovaZero 28 Nov, 2023 @ 10:39am
Amazing work ; It's sad that this isn't just BASE for the game itself. It shows the talent of modders like yourself to show how lazy CA is.
lwhのsama 25 Nov, 2023 @ 6:52am
most changed by this mod are so wonderful. But when there are changed and unchanged 3D porthole, the whole game begins to seem a liitle bit strange.
DaciaJC  [author] 25 Nov, 2023 @ 6:38am
@CRCR sama : thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately I don't believe it would be possible to adjust individual lords without editing the colors in their texture files, since these porthole lighting values are applied universally. Which characters in particular do you feel look strange?
lwhのsama 21 Nov, 2023 @ 7:22pm
good but dont include all the lords. some looks strange
DaciaJC  [author] 21 Nov, 2023 @ 3:41pm
@Superbed2 : Should show as updated now. Nothing changed, but I appreciate the reminder.
Superbed2 21 Nov, 2023 @ 2:24pm
update please :mhwhappy:
Alejandro 9 Nov, 2023 @ 5:51am
Coolest fix :WH3_greasus_rofl:
lime 7 Nov, 2023 @ 6:52pm

i think i will buy a dlc now
Oh_Man[TFE] 21 Oct, 2023 @ 9:32pm
thumbnail is hilarious - well played
Tango 20 Oct, 2023 @ 2:03pm
Can't believe what a difference this has made, wouldn't be without it now. Thanks!
Tapzu☺ 9 Oct, 2023 @ 8:13am
So many thanks for releasing this mod, it's a must for me, pinky-Karl-boi wasn't really my type!!
AkumulatoR 9 Oct, 2023 @ 7:04am
Essential mod. No more purple Franz. Shame on CA for releasing the game in this state and never fixing this. Thanks.
Axios 7 Oct, 2023 @ 10:53am
I wasn't actually bothered by the 3d portraits... until I tried this mod. Damn now I can't go back. This is insane! Insane that CA haven't fixed this; and insane that you have so eloquently. Well done.
DaciaJC  [author] 1 Oct, 2023 @ 11:43am
@Melinda Safitri: this applies to 3D portholes in battles as well. If you're referring to battle map lighting in general, there is a mod by Mazisky that might be worth trying out: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2922534576
Melinda Safitri 1 Oct, 2023 @ 10:00am
can u fix lighting in battle?
Rennen 30 Sep, 2023 @ 7:04am
