Hey everyone! I'm releasing the new version of General Munitions now. You can go check it out in the recent section of the Cosmoteer workshop - this version will rarely, if ever see any updates.

no not disruptive scrap, just make it fire enough that it overwhelms shielding (like in FTL)

@Cryptic I'm turning this mod into a backport so that it's compatible with 0.23.0 and below, there will be a new upload soon with a much prettier thumbnail and trailer.

As for your idea.. Speaking of shields, I might make a new one in this mod's theme!
Maybe I could do some sort of shrapnel gun that fires disruptive scrap or something, haha.

The faction i'm working on may very well be facing shielded ships, and E.M.P Warheads ain't cutting it for me. I could use something that either penetrates shields or disrupts them maybe?

it appears the Deck Artillery has not been implemented despite the change notes saying otherwise. idk if this means the mod hasn't updated itself yet or if there is a bug.

@kOiGuh - I think he's talking about a railgun-like kinetic cannon, not a modular projectile.

What about a single barrel deck howitzer that deals high area Damage. which could in turn soften the targets armour for the machine gunners.

What if you added a large cannon that fired explosive shells that were just meant to cut open ships? Also sorry if someone has already suggested this.

Essentially, the Chaingun doesn't actually fire projectiles unlike the Point Defense or Cannon.
Instead, it fires a very short-lived beam that looks like a bullet but actually works on the Ion Beam code.

A smaller chaingun WOULD be pretty cool. No armored shell or anything, but much cheaper and lighter

@Industrial_Idiot - Sounds cool, but I haven't even made a roof-mounted machinegun yet!

An interesting point about the deck railgun idea;
- You wouldn't be able to lengthen the barrel anymore, since it's mounted on the roof and not the ship.
